Confirm the stick supports your console
Check the manufacturer’s compatibility information for the exact stick model and the console you plan to use: PS4 or Switch. A stick that works with one platform may not work with the other. The available sources do not establish a game-specific compatibility list or verify any named model for this collection.

If you are shopping, a PS4-compatible arcade fight stick is a reasonable category to consider for the PS4 version, but treat the product maker’s platform compatibility details as the deciding evidence—not the game title appearing in a listing or a general claim that a stick works with consoles.
Connect the stick and test its inputs
- Connect the stick to the console according to its manufacturer’s instructions. The game-specific sources do not document a special connection sequence.
- Start Flying Fire Shark and check that the stick registers directional input.
- Test at least two action buttons. The original arcade control reference lists an 8-way joystick and two buttons per player. See the Flying Shark arcade control reference.
- Look in the game’s settings for input or remapping options if a control does not behave as expected. The available sources do not establish whether remapping is offered, so do not assume that button assignments can be changed.
What the original controls tell you—and what they don’t
The arcade reference describes Flying Shark’s original cabinet controls: an 8-way joystick and two buttons per player. That makes a stick with directional input and two usable action buttons a sensible baseline to test. It does not establish which modern control corresponds to each action, whether the collection uses the same assignments, or whether a specific peripheral will work.

Switch TATE play is optional
The Switch review discusses TATE, a vertical-screen presentation option that may suit a vertical shooter when the display is arranged accordingly. It does not say that a fight stick is required for TATE play, nor does the option itself confirm compatibility with a particular stick.
