For a genuine 24/7 channel, plan for OBS to keep running, reconnects if the feed drops, and a separate archive: YouTube’s production guide says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived and recommends recording and uploading longer streams separately.
Before you start
- A YouTube channel eligible to stream: verify the channel, confirm live streaming is enabled, and check that it has no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. YouTube says creators must be at least 16 to live stream. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- A computer running OBS: OBS is the encoder sending your audio and visuals to YouTube. The available official setup guidance does not specify a minimum computer configuration, so test your own machine and connection before launching publicly.
- A program you have the rights to use: gather the deep house tracks and visuals you are authorized to broadcast. Confirm live-stream, territory, rebroadcast, and archive/on-demand permissions for every piece of material.
- A plan for continuous operation: an OBS stream depends on the computer, power, internet connection, and encoder staying available. Decide who will monitor it and how you will recover if the signal drops.
OBS can carry a controlled audio/video feed and overlays, which suits a radio-style presentation. It does not itself grant music rights or guarantee uninterrupted uptime. Clear the music rights before you go live
Owning a recording, having permission to play music in a venue, or holding a license for ordinary on-demand uploads does not by itself establish permission to transmit it continuously on YouTube. Confirm that the rights cover the planned live broadcast and the countries where viewers may access it. If you want an archive or later on-demand upload, confirm that use separately.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A license may not prevent an interruption if the rights owner has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID. Ask the rights holder to confirm the required Content ID process and allowlisting before the stream begins. Set up the broadcast and OBS
1. Prepare a continuous program
Organize the tracks and visuals into the sequence you intend to broadcast. Check that the audio plays through the chosen OBS audio source and that your visuals—such as a permitted cover image, waveform, or channel branding—are also cleared for use. Monitor the complete playback path rather than assuming that a file audible on the computer will be present in the stream.
2. Create or schedule the YouTube Live broadcast
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Create → Go live to open the Live Control Room.
- Create a new stream or select the broadcast you plan to use. Set its title, description, privacy, thumbnail, and other available details.
- Copy the stream key for that broadcast if you are connecting manually. Treat it like a password: anyone with the key may be able to send video to the stream.
- Check that the key belongs to the exact broadcast you intend to use. A mismatched key can send the encoder to a different event or prevent the expected preview from appearing.

3. Connect OBS to YouTube
There are two supported setup paths in the OBS guidance:
- YouTube integration: connect your YouTube account in OBS, then select or create the broadcast through the integration. Review the broadcast details before sending the signal.
- Manual RTMPS and stream key: in OBS, open Settings → Stream, select YouTube as the service, and enter the matching stream key. Use the server/service options presented by the current OBS version rather than relying on controls from older screenshots.

4. Check the signal before making the stream public
- Start streaming from OBS and wait for the YouTube Live Control Room to show the incoming signal and preview.
- Use a private or unlisted test broadcast to check that the audio is audible, the visuals appear correctly, and playback works on a separate viewer device or browser.
- Listen for clipped, silent, or unexpectedly quiet audio; check that the intended program is playing and not a desktop notification or unrelated sound.
- Confirm the broadcast status in YouTube and verify the actual viewer playback before switching to a public launch.
The cited setup guidance does not establish particular bitrate, resolution, keyframe, or hardware-minimum values for this specific channel. Use settings your machine and connection can sustain, and validate the result in YouTube’s preview and viewer playback rather than treating an unsupported numeric preset as a guarantee.
Keep a 24/7 stream running and recover from interruptions
With OBS, the computer is the source of the live signal. It must remain on with OBS and the program running, alongside a working internet connection and power. No particular PC model, connection speed, or uninterrupted-uptime guarantee is established by the cited setup materials.

Monitor the YouTube broadcast status and the OBS output. OBS includes broadcast start/stop and auto-stop controls, and the OBS guide cautions that broadcasts may end after several hours without an incoming stream. Plan who will notice a dropped feed, how to restart it, and how to confirm that YouTube is receiving it again. The precise available controls may depend on your OBS version and broadcast setup.

YouTube’s production guide says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. For a stream longer than 12 hours, it recommends recording separately and manually uploading the recording. If you need a complete record, plan a separate local recording and check that you have enough storage and the necessary rights for the recording and any later upload. You can also schedule shorter broadcasts, but that changes the format from one uninterrupted continuous stream; plan transitions so viewers know when programming ends and resumes.
