To run a 24/7 Indian music stream with Ant Media Server, clear the music rights first, confirm your YouTube channel can livestream, create a linear playlist in an Ant Media application, and send that broadcast to YouTube using the stream URL and key from YouTube Studio. Test the full path—including audio, playlist progression, and recovery—before making it public. Ant Media supports playlist-based streaming of prerecorded media in its Community and Enterprise editions, but a working connection does not give you permission to broadcast the music.
Before setup: clear the music rights
Treat rights clearance as a launch requirement, not something to address after a copyright warning. For every track, establish permission for both the sound recording (the master) and the underlying composition. Confirm that the permission covers the countries where the stream will be available, the intended streaming period, archiving or replay, monetization, and any other use you plan to make of the broadcast.

YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions place responsibility on the content provider to hold the rights needed for worldwide exploitation on Google services, including music licensing rights from artists, labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. The rights required for a particular Indian music catalog depend on the catalog and intended territories; there is no one-size-fits-all clearance answer here.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can replace the stream with a placeholder and trigger a warning; continued use may result in interruption or termination. Even music you have licensed may be interrupted if the relevant rights owner has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID. Keep written permissions and confirm any required allowlisting directly with the rights owner. Buying a track, subscribing to a consumer music service, crediting the artist, or being able to play a file locally does not by itself grant live-broadcast rights. Check YouTube channel eligibility
Before configuring Ant Media, verify that the channel is eligible to livestream. YouTube Help says the channel must be verified, must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days, and the person streaming must be at least 16 years old. Review the current requirements in Get started with live streaming; channel status and platform requirements can change.
Prepare Ant Media Server
Install and configure Ant Media Server in a hosting environment suited to your actual workflow, then create or select the live application that will handle the broadcast. Open only the network paths required by the chosen publishing and restreaming workflow. The required server capacity depends on the media, stream settings, workload, and number of destinations; the available documentation does not establish a universal instance size, price, or hardware specification for a 24/7 music stream.

Ant Media’s current Playlist guide documents linear streaming of prerecorded media and identifies continuous 24/7 social-platform presence as a use case. It lists playlist availability in both Community and Enterprise editions. Confirm the exact workflow against the edition and version you install. Ant Media’s older 2022 Linode walkthrough can help orient you to the broad sequence, but it is not a current server-sizing or pricing guide.

- Upload and organize the media. Add the recordings you have cleared to the Ant Media application and arrange them in the intended order using the playlist workflow documented for your installed version.
- Set the schedule and repeat behavior. Configure the playlist for the intended continuous linear run. Check what happens when it reaches the end, how scheduled items are handled, and whether transitions behave as you expect; verify those details with the actual version and media rather than assuming every setup behaves identically.
- Check every item’s audio and video. Preview the files and confirm that audio is present and at the expected level, that video behaves as intended, and that there are no unwanted silent sections or abrupt transitions. YouTube’s RTMP workflow requires audio; Ant Media explicitly notes, “YouTube does not accept streams without audio.” See Ant Media’s RTMP restreaming guide.
- Run a private or otherwise controlled end-to-end test. Verify that the playlist advances, the stream reaches YouTube, and both sound and picture play in the YouTube preview and on the intended watch page. Test on a phone as well as a desktop before promoting the public stream.
Connect the Ant Media broadcast to YouTube
- In YouTube Studio, open Create > Go Live and select the stream setup flow. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for the broadcast.
- In Ant Media’s Live Streams area, create or select the live stream you want to send to YouTube.
- Use the broadcast’s Edit RTMP Endpoint action and add YouTube as the RTMP destination using the stream URL and stream key. Follow the endpoint format in the installed Ant Media version’s RTMP restreaming instructions.
- Start the broadcast and check its state in Ant Media, then check YouTube Live Control Room for an incoming signal and preview. Confirm audio, video, and playlist progression before making the stream public.
Keep the stream key private: anyone who has it may be able to publish to the channel’s stream destination. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio and update the Ant Media endpoint.
Set bandwidth and monitor the stream
The outgoing connection from the Ant Media host must sustain the stream’s total bitrate. YouTube recommends keeping upload capacity at least 20% above the stream bitrate; see its current streaming tips. This margin helps accommodate variation, but it is not a guarantee against outages. Choose resolution, frame rate, bitrate, and keyframe settings using YouTube’s current guidance for the chosen stream format and the capabilities of your publishing path; the cited material does not establish one bitrate or keyframe interval that fits every Indian music stream.
During the test and ongoing operation, watch YouTube’s stream health and check Ant Media or the publishing encoder for dropped frames, CPU load, and network stability. Ant Media’s OBS publishing guide highlights dropped frames, CPU load, and network stability as useful checks. Assign an operator or escalation contact to respond if the broadcast stops; one successful test cannot establish that a setup will stay online indefinitely.

Troubleshooting common failures
