To run an animated nursery rhyme stream on YouTube around the clock, prepare a rights-cleared video, enable live streaming on an eligible channel, and send the feed through an encoder configured with the stream details from YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Test the animation, audio, and loop transition before relying on the feed, then monitor stream health. YouTube documents a 24/7 broadcast pattern, but that is not a built-in looping or uninterrupted-operation guarantee.
What you need before you start
- An eligible YouTube channel: YouTube’s live-streaming guidance says the channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. Its getting-started guidance also says creators must be at least 16 to livestream.
- A finished animated program: Prepare the video and audio that will make up the stream, including any transition between the end and beginning if you intend to loop it.
- An encoder: YouTube supports encoder-based streaming, a practical fit for a produced feed with animation or overlays. The computer or encoder must be able to produce the selected settings and sustain the upload connection; YouTube’s cited guidance does not specify a required computer model or minimum hardware specification.
- Rights documentation: Keep the license or permission for every visual, composition, sound recording, and performance in the program. A traditional rhyme may be old, but a particular modern arrangement, recording, performance, or animation can have separate rights.
Clear the music and animation rights first
YouTube says the channel owner is responsible for having the rights needed to exploit live content worldwide, including music licensing rights. Build the stream from original material or obtain permissions that cover the intended use. Save the relevant license terms and proof of permission where you can retrieve them.
YouTube scans livestreams for third-party matches. A placeholder may replace matched material; if it remains, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. A license does not necessarily prevent this automatically: the rights owner may need to allowlist your channel in Content ID. Archived broadcasts can also receive Content ID claims after the live stream ends.
- For Creative Commons material, check the specific license rather than assuming all reuse is permitted. YouTube says CC BY material can be monetized when the license grants commercial-use rights, and attribution may be required.
- YouTube cannot grant permission to reuse someone else’s work. A claim that a rhyme is public domain does not establish that a specific recording, arrangement, performance, or cartoon is free to use.
- Keep records for the archive as well as the live broadcast; ending the stream does not remove rights obligations.
Create the live event and get its stream details
- Open YouTube Studio and enter the Live Control Room. Create or schedule the broadcast there. Confirm you are setting up an encoder stream rather than assuming YouTube will loop a file by itself.
- Choose the encoder workflow. Use the stream setup details shown for that broadcast in YouTube Studio. Keep the stream key private: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your channel.
- Connect the encoder. Enter the server/ingest and stream-key details where your encoder requests them. YouTube recommends RTMPS. Do not reuse a key publicly or include it in a screenshot or tutorial.
- Set the video and audio output. Choose the resolution and frame rate you can sustain, then match the encoder’s codec, bitrate, and keyframe settings to YouTube’s guidance below.
- Start a test feed and check the Live Control Room. Review stream health and any messages before treating the setup as ready for a long-running broadcast.
Choose encoder settings that fit the animation and connection
YouTube lists RTMP/RTMPS ingest and supports H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1 video, with AAC or MP3 audio. It recommends constant bitrate (CBR) encoding and keyframes every two seconds; keyframes should not be more than four seconds apart. YouTube recommends RTMPS over RTMP.

| Example output | YouTube’s H.264 bitrate recommendation | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| 1080p at 30 fps | 5 Mbps | Use as a reference for this specific resolution and frame rate, not as a universal minimum for every encoder or connection. |
| 720p at 30 fps | 6 Mbps | YouTube’s stated recommendation for this combination; select settings based on the current guidance for your actual frame rate and codec. |
The two examples are YouTube recommendations from its encoder settings guidance, accessed in 2026. They are not interchangeable: the 720p example is higher than the 1080p example, so do not infer that resolution alone determines bitrate. Consult YouTube’s current settings for the precise combination you intend to send, especially if you choose a different frame rate or codec.
Use a bitrate your upload connection can sustain continuously. A high setting that fluctuates or exceeds available upstream capacity can be less useful than a lower, stable output. If the animation contains rapid motion, test representative scenes rather than judging quality from a static title card.

Test the loop before leaving the stream running
YouTube’s encoder guidance says, “Make sure to test before you start your live stream.” For a nursery rhyme channel, the test should cover the whole delivery chain, not just whether the encoder connects.
- Send a private or otherwise appropriate test feed through the same encoder, settings, and network you plan to use.
- Listen for clean audio at the start, during the song, and across the loop transition. Check that the ending does not leave silence or an abrupt sound.
- Watch moving sections for visual stutter, dropped frames, or a visibly degraded image. Include the fastest or most detailed animation in the test.
- Check YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room for stream health and messages while the feed is running.
- Verify that the program returns to its intended opening cleanly. Testing the transition is a production check, not a YouTube-prescribed loop setting.
What “24/7” means on YouTube
Google’s Live Streaming API documentation describes a channel broadcasting a 24/7 live feed and keeping that broadcast active while creating a separate broadcast from the same stream. That establishes that a continuous-feed pattern is documented; it does not provide a one-click video-loop feature or specify the looping software, restart monitoring, or recovery method for your particular setup.

With a do-it-yourself encoder setup, the stream depends on the equipment, software, network, and event configuration you operate. Do not treat a successful test as a guarantee that the feed will never stop. Plan to check the Live Control Room and respond to stream-health messages. YouTube’s cited guidance does not prescribe a particular computer, loop application, redundant connection, UPS, or automatic-recovery procedure.
Keep monetization expectations separate from copyright permission
YouTube’s monetization policies apply to live streams. The channel is expected to publish original and authentic content; generic, repetitive, or mass-produced material can be ineligible. Reused-content policy is separate from copyright permission: having permission to use a recording does not by itself establish monetization eligibility.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
YouTube’s monetization policy page notes a July 15, 2025 update clarifying that its “inauthentic content” policy covers repetitive or mass-produced content. For a nursery rhyme channel, make the value and authorship of the actual production clear rather than assuming that a long runtime or a collection of licensed songs makes the stream eligible.

| Symptom | What to check | Practical next step |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube does not accept the stream | Channel eligibility, the selected event, and the stream setup details entered in the encoder. | Confirm verification and live-stream eligibility, then recheck the server and private stream key against the details in the Live Control Room. |
| Stream health reports delivery trouble | Whether the encoder’s bitrate is sustainable on the available upload connection. | Use a setting appropriate to the chosen resolution and frame rate, verify CBR and the keyframe interval, and test again while watching stream health. |
| Animation looks poor or motion stutters | Whether the test included representative motion and whether the chosen output is stable. | Re-test the most demanding animated section; adjust the resolution, frame rate, or bitrate to a combination your encoder and connection can sustain. |
| Music is replaced or the stream is interrupted | Third-party matches, the exact scope of the license, and whether the rights owner has allowlisted the channel. | Remove or replace material you cannot substantiate, or contact the rights owner about the required allowlist entry. Review the archive too, since claims can arrive after the broadcast. |
| The feed does not continue as intended | Whether the encoder is still sending, whether the source is looping, and whether the event remains active. | Inspect the encoder and Live Control Room rather than assuming YouTube will restart or loop the feed automatically; the cited YouTube documentation does not prescribe recovery behavior for a local setup. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If you want a cloud service to loop uploaded nursery rhyme videos to YouTube, StreamNeo is an alternative to keeping an encoder computer running at home. The workflow is: upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo streams uploaded video to YouTube; it does not broadcast from a camera. It does not grant music or animation rights, so the same clearance checks apply.
