Set your source device to 2560 × 1440, select the highest refresh rate supported by your monitor, input, cable, and graphics source, and enable VRR or HDR only when every part of the setup supports it. The exact monitor model determines which ports, modes, on-screen controls, and OLED-care routines are available, so use its manual rather than assuming every 1440p OLED works the same way.
1. Find the exact model and its manual
Check the model name on the rear label, packaging, or purchase record. Then open the manufacturer’s official support page and download the quick-start guide or owner’s manual. Follow that guide for assembly, supported connections, on-screen display (OSD) controls, and maintenance; menu names and capabilities vary by model.

For example, LG describes the 27GS93QE-B as a 27-inch 1440p OLED with a 240 Hz refresh rate, G-Sync Compatible, and FreeSync Premium Pro. ASUS lists its PG27AQDM as a 26.5-inch 2560 × 1440 OLED with its own documented inputs and VRR support. Those specifications are examples for those particular monitors, not promises about the whole 1440p OLED category. LG 27GS93QE-B support · ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM specifications
2. Assemble and connect the display
- Assemble the stand and position the monitor according to its included setup guide.
- Choose a video input that the monitor and source device both support. Connect them using a cable suitable for that input and the resolution and refresh rate you want. Do not assume that a particular port or cable is universal; check the manual for the monitor’s supported combinations.
- Connect power and turn on the monitor and source device. If the monitor has an input-selection control, choose the input you used.
3. Set 1440p resolution and the available refresh rate
In the source device’s display settings, select 2560 × 1440 resolution and then choose the highest refresh rate offered for the connected setup. The available modes depend on the monitor, selected input, cable, and computer or console, so a specification such as 240 Hz on one model does not mean every 1440p OLED—or every connection to that model—will offer 240 Hz.

- Samsung’s 27” Odyssey OLED G6 Gaming Monitor is engineered for perfection with a QD-OLED Display featuring QHD resolution made to deliver high brightness and a wide range of colors for gameplay
- OLED Safeguard technology supports performance by actively helping to prevent burn-in with a thermal modulation system
- Glare Free Technology keeps screen clear of reflection from external light sources
- The Pantone Validated screen accurately reproduces 2100+ lifelike colors and 110+ skin tone shades
- HDR10 provides brighter highlights and nuanced shadows for added depth and more realistic scenes
If the expected resolution or refresh rate is missing, check that the source is connected to the intended monitor input, consult the monitor manual for input-specific limits, and review the source device’s current display documentation. The exact menu path differs across operating systems and devices.
4. Enable VRR when the whole setup supports it
Variable refresh rate (VRR), also called Adaptive-Sync in some menus, must be supported by the monitor on the input you are using and by the source device. Check the monitor manual and the graphics source’s documentation for compatibility before enabling it. Product labels such as G-Sync Compatible or FreeSync Premium Pro apply to the listed model; they are not a guarantee of identical support across all monitors, inputs, computers, and consoles.

- OLED Makes All The Difference: With a display of these mammoth-like proportions, everything must look good. The WQHD quantum dot OLED display with true 10Bit is obligated to offer stunning contrast, cinematic color. Image retention-refresh keeps the images from sticking.
- AMD FreeSync Premium Technology: Say “goodbye” to stuttering and tearing. With AMD FreeSync Premium, the monitor’s frames are synced with the graphics card’s frames, which eliminates screen tearing and provides the smoothest gaming experience.
- Fast and Furious: If you want seamless gameplay at ridiculous levels of speed, you’ve come to the right place. With an 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms (G to G) response time, your sessions will be fluid, unbroken and unmatched – with little to no ghosting.
- Brilliant Colors: With the DCI-P3 99% color gamut, Delta E<2, and HDR10, colors are practically bursting out of the screen. Enjoy the best imagery your games have to offer!
- Center of Vision: At 26.5-inches, the X27U is directly in your field of view. Considered a hallmark of eSports tournaments, this is the perfect size to gain an edge over your opponents. The addition of a ZeroFrame design also removes the bezels – giving you have even more visibly over every match and every movement your rivals make.
5. Configure HDR only for a supported monitor and source
Confirm that the monitor, selected input, and source device support HDR, then use the source platform’s current HDR setup or calibration flow. Use the monitor manual for its HDR modes and controls; there is no single brightness, white-point, gamma, or color setting established here as best for every 1440p OLED. LG lists HDR True Black 400 for the 27GS93QE-B, a specification for that model only. LG 27GS93QE-B support

OLED monitors may include measures intended to reduce image retention from static content. Samsung Support defines burn-in or image retention as a static image becoming a permanent fixture regardless of displayed content. Keep the protections available on your model enabled, and follow that manufacturer’s instructions rather than applying a schedule from another brand. Samsung Support: OLED monitor care

ASUS examples
ASUS documents features including Screen Saver, Screen Move, logo-brightness adjustment, and automatic Pixel Cleaning for supported models. Its support guidance says Pixel Cleaning takes approximately 6 minutes and warns not to unplug the monitor while the process runs. Use the instructions for your specific supported model. Samsung examples
Samsung documents Pixel Shift, logo-brightness adjustment, Screen Optimization, and optional Pixel Refresh for supported OLED monitors. Its support page gives Screen Optimization a duration of 10–15 minutes for supported models and warns against interrupting Pixel Refresh when that feature is available. 7. Check for model-specific downloads and updates
Return to the monitor’s official support page for current manuals, firmware, and software. LG’s 27GS93QE-B page, for example, lists its owner’s manual and Calibration Studio downloads. A listed utility is not a requirement for every OLED display; use downloads only when they apply to your model and your needs. LG 27GS93QE-B support
