Change the first day of the week in Windows 11
- Open Start > Settings.
- Select Time & language > Language & region.
- Expand Regional format.
- Select Change formats.
- Open First day of week and select the day you want.
This navigation and control name are reported by iTechGuides’ Windows 11 guide. Microsoft’s documentation explains that Windows uses locale-aware date and time formatting, but the exact click path above is not documented in the Microsoft sources cited here. If labels differ on your Windows build, look for the first-day option in the Regional format settings. Microsoft Learn: Locale information

What this setting changes—and what it does not
The preference belongs to Windows regional formatting, which informs formatting behavior in Windows apps. It is distinct from an individual calendar app’s settings, so changing the Windows value may not change the first day shown inside every calendar.

Microsoft documents a separate first-day-of-week control in Outlook on the web, and separate calendar controls for new Outlook and classic Outlook. If Outlook’s calendar still starts on a different day, adjust its calendar settings as well. Outlook on the web calendar settings · Outlook first-day-of-week settings
