If PRISM lets you set a bitrate or maximum bitrate, use 4,000 kbps as a quality-oriented reference for 720p. This is a practical starting point based on PRISM’s general guidance—not an India-specific or guaranteed preset. If the stream falters, lower the resolution or frame rate in small steps.
Choose settings for the connection you actually have
PRISM’s published recommendations are general product guidance, not measurements of Indian mobile carriers or viewer data use. There is no single setting established as best for every Indian creator: test with the upload connection and phone you will use, and weigh picture detail against stream stability and audience data constraints.

Start at 720p, 30 fps, with ABP enabled
PRISM describes ABP as adapting to network conditions and recommends leaving it on for novice streamers. It can help the stream continue as available bandwidth changes, but the picture may lose quality as bitrate falls; a weak connection can still result in poor quality or interruptions. PRISM recommends 30 fps for normal live broadcasting and says it is generally more stable than 60 fps under similar conditions.

For bitrate, PRISM’s adaptive-bitrate guidance gives 4,000 kbps at 720p as a quality-oriented reference when the network can sustain it. Its FAQ gives a broader 720p range of 2–4 Mbps. Treat these as different forms of general guidance, not a guarantee that a mobile upload will sustain the upper end.

Move up to 1080p only if the stream and phone cope
If the stream remains stable and the phone handles encoding comfortably, try 1080p at 30 fps. PRISM’s adaptive guidance gives 6,000 kbps as a quality-oriented 1080p reference; its FAQ lists 4–6 Mbps. Higher resolution and frame rate require more from the connection and phone, and PRISM warns that long, high-resolution broadcasts can cause heating.
Use lower settings when stability matters more than detail
PRISM’s FAQ lists these general bitrate ranges: 360p at 1–2 Mbps, 720p at 2–4 Mbps, and 1080p at 4–6 Mbps. Its mobile stability guidance also lists estimated bandwidth ranges when ABP is off: 1080p at 0.1–4 or 0.1–6 Mbps; 720p at 0.1–2.5 or 0.1–4 Mbps; 480p at 0.1–2 Mbps; and 360p at 0.1–1.5 Mbps. PRISM advises having bandwidth above the stream’s needs and recommends at least twice the specified bandwidth for higher-quality streaming. These are PRISM figures, not Indian network tests; leave headroom rather than treating the listed maximum as a safe target.

Balance resolution, frame rate, and ABP
| Choice | Trade-off | Practical use |
|---|---|---|
| 720p vs. 1080p | 1080p carries more picture detail but demands more bandwidth and phone processing. PRISM says 720p is typically more stable than 1080p under similar conditions. | Begin at 720p; test 1080p only if upload and device performance remain steady. |
| 30 fps vs. 60 fps | 60 fps can make motion look smoother, but it adds workload. PRISM recommends 30 fps for normal broadcasting and says it is generally more stable than 60 fps under similar conditions. | Use 30 fps as the normal starting point, especially when stability is the priority. |
| ABP on vs. off | ABP responds to changing network conditions and can lower transmitted quality as bandwidth degrades. With ABP off, the selected bitrate is less able to adapt to a changing connection. | For mobile networks that may change during a broadcast, begin with ABP on. Consider manual settings only when you can sustain them. |
Set up the YouTube broadcast in PRISM
PRISM’s mobile setup overview describes selecting a mode, tapping Ready, entering and saving required information in the live-stream summary, then pressing Go Live. The precise names or location of encoding controls can vary by app version, so check the current app rather than relying on an unverified menu path.
- Prepare the YouTube stream. Select the mobile mode you intend to use, open the live-stream summary, and enter and save the required stream information.
- Check encoding controls before going live. Find the available resolution, bitrate, frame-rate, and ABP options. PRISM identifies these four factors as determinants of video quality.
- Set your starting values. Choose 720p and 30 fps, enable ABP, and use 4,000 kbps only if the app exposes a manual or maximum bitrate and your upload can sustain it.
- Go live and observe the result. If the stream is unstable, reduce resolution or frame rate gradually. If it is stable and the phone remains comfortable, test 1080p at 30 fps and PRISM’s 6,000 kbps reference.
Make a video playlist—and distinguish it from a loop
PRISM’s mobile help explains how to create a video playlist in My Studio and play it during a live stream. It does not establish that the playlist repeats automatically or document a repeat control. A playlist is therefore not proof of a looping feature; do not assume playback will restart when it reaches the end.

Create and use a playlist
- Open My Studio and choose Playlist.
- Create a Video playlist, select the videos, and create the playlist.
- Adjust the order or seek to a particular position as needed. PRISM says saved playlists remain in My Studio for reuse.
- Use the playlist in the live stream. PRISM says video and music playback can be mixed into a stream; if you want only playback audio, its guide describes muting the microphone.
PRISM’s guide also says music, video, music playlist, video playlist, and image playlist cannot be used together, and that only one of these play features can be used at a time in the listed mobile modes. Plan the stream around that constraint. If automatic repeat is essential, verify the current app behavior before relying on it.
What viewers on phones will receive
Your selected broadcast quality is the stream you send; it does not establish that every YouTube viewer on a mobile connection will receive a fixed resolution. Do not promise that choosing 1080p means everyone will watch in 1080p. The PRISM material cited here does not establish current viewer-side quality-control labels or behavior.

Troubleshoot an unstable stream
- Stream becomes unstable as the mobile connection changes: Keep ABP on; lower resolution or frame rate gradually, starting with a return from 1080p to 720p if applicable.
- Picture quality falls while ABP is on: Adaptive bitrate can reduce quality as bandwidth degrades. Improve the available upload connection if possible, or choose a lower, steadier resolution rather than assuming ABP can overcome a weak network.
- Frames drop or the phone struggles: Reduce resolution or frame rate. PRISM notes that higher settings strain phones and that long, high-resolution broadcasts can cause heating.
- Playlist does not repeat at the end: PRISM’s documented playlist instructions do not confirm an automatic repeat mode or loop toggle. Check the current app; do not infer a repeat control from the existence of a playlist.
- Expected playback options are unavailable: PRISM limits the listed playback features to one at a time in the relevant mobile modes. Remove the competing music, video, or image playlist feature from the plan.
