Set up channel memberships in YouTube Studio under Earn → Memberships, then choose Edit in the levels-and-perks section. You can create up to six levels, with one to five perks per level; higher-priced levels automatically include lower-level perks. For a looping channel, a sustainable starting point is to keep the stream publicly watchable and offer members participation or recognition—such as members-only chat, badges, or emoji—rather than promising a steady flow of new content.
Choose perks that fit a 24/7 looping channel
Membership perks work best when they add something members value without making the creator promise more work than the channel can sustain. Decide whether each perk changes access, enables participation, offers recognition, or requires new material—and whether you can deliver it reliably.

YouTube’s documented membership perks also include a member recognition shelf and videos. Check the current feature list and policies in YouTube Help before promising a less familiar benefit. Because higher levels inherit lower-level perks, write down the cumulative benefits of each level before publishing. Give each higher level a distinct added benefit; otherwise, members may see little reason to choose it over a lower one. There is no universally optimal tier count or price established by YouTube. Start with only the levels and benefits you can maintain, then use membership, acquisition, and retention data in Studio to inform changes.

How to set up YouTube membership perks
- Confirm availability. Memberships are subject to YouTube eligibility, location, and policy requirements. If the option is unavailable, check the current channel eligibility requirements and membership guidance in YouTube Help.
- Open the setup page. On a computer, go to YouTube Studio and select Earn → Memberships.
- Edit levels and perks. Choose Edit in the levels-and-perks section. Add up to six levels at the prices available to your channel. Create one to five perks for each level, remembering that benefits stack upward.
- Configure livestream chat separately. To let everyone watch a public stream while limiting chat to members, create or open the stream in Studio, open its settings, enable members-only chat, and save. This restricts who can chat, not who can watch.
- Publish for review. Submit the levels and perks. YouTube reviews them against its membership policies before they go live. Its help guidance estimates about a day for this review. Some channels also have a separate membership activation review after joining the YouTube Partner Program; YouTube says to allow up to two days for that process.
- Review performance and fulfillment. After launch, check which levels attract members and how acquisition and retention change. Adjust the offer based on those results, and avoid benefits you cannot keep delivering.
Can a looping livestream be monetized?
Looping by itself is not identified in YouTube’s cited monetization policy as an automatic disqualification. The policy focuses on whether monetized content is original and authentic, and its discussion of inauthentic content includes generic, repetitive, or mass-produced material. YouTube says it may review a channel as a whole, and its policy’s use of “video” includes livestreams. It also says the substance of each video should be materially varied and provide creative, educational, or other value.
That is not a guarantee that a particular loop will be approved or remain eligible. The policy does not give a categorical ruling for every looping format. Make the stream’s original value clear, and check YouTube’s current monetization policies if the channel’s content stays largely unchanged for long periods.

Check perk rules before making promises
All membership perks must comply with YouTube’s current membership policies. Do not offer downloads of content available on YouTube as a membership perk; YouTube lists them among prohibited perks. Check the full current policy before offering unusual benefits.
