To set a Google Flights price alert, search your holiday route and dates, then switch on Track prices. Choose fixed-date tracking if your travel dates are set; choose Any dates if you can shift them and want to monitor fares across the route more broadly. You can also track a specific itinerary and manage saved alerts later in Tracked Flights.
Set up a Google Flights price alert
Google says, “When the price for a flight or route you’re tracking changes significantly, you can get email updates.” You can track a route for selected dates, track a route with flexible dates, or follow a specific flight. Google’s official instructions are for different device interfaces, so labels and placement may vary by platform.

Track a route on a computer
- Open Google Flights and enter your departure airport, destination, dates, number of tickets, cabin class, and any stop preferences.
- Turn on Track prices.
- Choose tracking for the searched dates, or select Any dates if your travel dates are flexible.
Track a particular flight on a computer
- Search for your route and dates.
- Select the flight or flights you want to follow.
- Turn on Track prices for the selected itinerary.
Track a flight on an Android phone
- In the Google Flights experience on Android, enter the route and choose your dates.
- Tap Track prices. To track one specific flight rather than the route, select that flight first.

Use fixed-date tracking when the holiday schedule is set
Track the searched dates if you need to travel during a particular holiday period, or select an itinerary if you want to monitor that specific flight. These options keep the alert tied to the dates or flights you chose.

Use “Any dates” when you can move your trip
Any dates monitors the route more broadly; it does not mean Google is tracking only your chosen holiday week. Google says it sends an alert when the route’s minimum price drops significantly over a month. If there is no significant drop, it sends a regular email with available flight prices.
If your dates are not settled, use Google Flights’ calendar and price graph to compare fares by date, week, or month before choosing a range to track. Google’s flexible-date help describes a calendar showing the lowest fares within a 30-day period and trip-duration choices for travelers who can vary how long they stay. Manage or turn off saved alerts
Open Tracked Flights on a computer or Tracked flights on mobile to review saved routes and itineraries. From there, Google says you can switch tracking emails on or off or remove a saved route or flight. The same Google Travel Help page explains tracking and management.

An alert reports a significant price change; it does not promise that a fare will keep falling or that waiting will save money. Google may also notify you when a tracked route’s prices are likely to rise, or when a current flight fare is due to expire and its replacement is likely to cost more. These notifications include an estimate and Google’s confidence in it.

Google says its fare predictions draw on past price trends, while warning that future prices may not follow those patterns. Treat alerts and predictions as monitoring information, not a guaranteed fare, booking deadline, or personalized financial advice. A lower headline fare may not be the best choice once you account for the full trip. Compare the total price, practical convenience, and booking terms before following an alert to a seller.

- Time and convenience: Google’s Best results balance price, convenience, and ease of booking. Duration, stops, and airport changes can affect how useful an itinerary is.
- Cheaper-flight trade-offs: Some lower-priced options involve an online travel agency, separate tickets, self-transfer, or a change of airport. Separate tickets may mean separate change fees, baggage recheck, extra connection time, and greater exposure if a missed connection disrupts the trip.
- Seller and final terms: Google often sends travelers to an airline or online travel agency to complete a booking. Confirm the final price and conditions with that provider before paying.
Google says its flight search supports booking through more than 300 airline and online travel agency partners. That is Google’s stated partner coverage, not a guarantee that every carrier or itinerary will appear for your route; availability depends on the route and partners.
