Turn on player-status or injury push notifications in your fantasy app, choose the team or league you want covered, and allow notifications for the app in your phone’s settings. Then treat each alert as a prompt to check the latest player status and your lineup—not as a guarantee that every update will arrive before a game locks.
Turn on alerts in your fantasy app
Menu names and available alert categories vary by platform. Some apps let you set preferences separately for each fantasy team, so check every team you want covered.

ESPN Fantasy
- Open the ESPN Fantasy app and tap the gear icon.
- Open Alert Preferences and turn on Fantasy alerts.
- Choose a fantasy team and enable Player Status.

Yahoo Fantasy on Android
- From Fantasy Home, tap the profile icon.
- Choose Edit Team Notifications, then select the fantasy team.

Yahoo Fantasy on iPhone or iPad
- From Fantasy Home, tap the profile icon, then Settings.
- Open Push Notification Settings.

NFL Fantasy
NFL Support documents these routes for managing league alerts:
- Website: Open the chosen league’s MY TEAM tab, select Edit Settings, then Manage my team and league alerts.
- App: Open the league’s More, then Team Settings and Push Notifications (or Email Notifications).

Sleeper
Sleeper’s support guidance covers general notification controls, not a specific current path for player injury alerts. It says app-wide permissions are controlled in your phone’s settings; channel-level options are available from the bell icon beside a channel. Do not assume those general controls enable fantasy player injury alerts. Sleeper’s notification guidance
If injury alerts are not arriving
- Check the app’s alert settings. Confirm the relevant status or injury category is enabled and that you selected the right team or league. Team-specific settings may need to be repeated for each roster you manage.
- Check your phone’s notification permission. App settings and operating-system permissions are separate. If the phone blocks notifications for the fantasy app, an in-app alert preference alone may not be enough. Device menu paths vary by iOS, Android, and operating-system version.
- Review alert categories. If you enabled a broad set of notifications, turn off unrelated categories where the app allows it. This can reduce noise without disabling the status alerts you want.
- Recheck after an app update. Labels and menu locations can change. If the path above no longer matches your screen, look for notification or alert preferences in the app’s current settings.
What to expect from an alert
An alert is a useful prompt to open the app, check the player’s current designation, and review your lineup before the relevant game locks. The cited platform guidance does not promise that notifications are instantaneous, cover every news event, or arrive before kickoff. Check the current status and lineup directly when timing matters.

Optional: Yahoo Assistant GM
Yahoo has described Assistant GM, a Yahoo Fantasy Plus feature that monitors changes in projections, injury reports, and other data and can send a morning push notification when it identifies a lineup change that could improve your chances.
