To track a specific Amazon product, set a target-price alert with Alexa for Shopping; to hear about event deals based on your recent searches and views, subscribe on the Prime Day event page in the Amazon Shopping app. Save exact products to a Wish List, Cart, or Save for Later for possible advance Alexa notifications, then check the product’s price history before buying. Amazon’s October 2026 fall sale, Prime Big Deal Days, starts October 6; its main Prime Day event ran June 23–26, 2026.
Choose the alert that matches what you want to track
Amazon offers separate ways to monitor an event and an exact item. Event-page alerts can notify you when deals related to recent searches and recently viewed products become available. For a particular listing, Alexa for Shopping can alert you when its price reaches a threshold you choose. Saving an item may also qualify it for an advance deal notification.

- Track an event: Subscribe to deal alerts from the Prime Day event page in the Amazon Shopping app.
- Track one item: Ask Alexa for Shopping to create a price alert from that product’s detail page.
- Track a saved item: Add it to a Wish List, Cart, or Save for Later and, if eligible, Alexa may notify you before a deal.
Amazon’s guidance describes these features for Prime Day. App labels and availability can change; check the current event page and product detail page for the options shown in your marketplace. Amazon’s price-history guidance says the feature is available in the U.S., UK, Canada, and India.

Set up Amazon alerts before the sale
1. Save the exact products you might buy
Search for the item and verify its model, size, color, and configuration before saving it. Similar listings can have different prices, and an alert for the wrong version will not help you judge the deal you want. Add the correct listing to a Wish List, Cart, or Save for Later. Amazon says eligible saved items may trigger an Alexa deal notification up to 24 hours in advance; that lead time is a possibility, not a promise for every product or deal.

2. Subscribe to event-page deal alerts
- Open the Amazon Shopping app and go to the Prime Day event page.
- Choose the option to subscribe to alerts. Amazon says these can relate to recent searches and recently viewed items.
- Allow app notifications if prompted, so subscribed-deal alerts can reach your device.
Amazon says push notifications arrive when subscribed deals become available. The event-page subscription is broad: it is not the same as setting a price threshold for one specific listing.
3. Set a target price for a particular product
On the product detail page, ask Alexa for Shopping to create a price alert for your chosen threshold. Amazon’s example is, “Alert me when this drops to $50.” Choose a number that fits your own budget and the exact product; that example is not a general recommendation. Amazon also describes asking Alexa for Shopping for need-based deals, such as deals on noise-canceling headphones, with daily updates when matching offers appear.

4. Keep notifications separate from automatic buying
Amazon documents an Auto-Buy option that can let Alexa for Shopping complete a purchase using your default payment method when the target price is reached. This is not a notification-only alert: enabling it may result in an order without another prompt. If you want to review the offer, seller, and checkout details yourself, leave Auto-Buy off.
Check the price history before you buy
On an eligible product detail page, open the “Price history” link beside the price; Amazon also says you can ask Alexa for Shopping about an item’s price history. Use the graph to see how the item’s price has changed over time, rather than treating the current discount label as proof of a good deal. A past low is context, not a guarantee that the price will fall again or that the same low will return.

Price-history availability and the length of the displayed history can differ by region. Amazon says 365-day price insights were rolling out in the U.S., UK, and India, with full availability expected in the coming weeks at the time of its feature article. Do not assume every marketplace has the same history window. Amazon reported in 2026 that more than 50 million customers had used price history since its 2024 launch and that customers checked it three times per month on average; those are Amazon’s figures, not independent measurements.
Use an outside tracker only if it fills a gap
Keepa advertises Amazon price-history charts and price-drop alerts. Keepa may suit someone who wants a chart or alert beyond the built-in Amazon options. CamelCamelCamel advertises a free Amazon price tracker with history charts and drop alerts. The cited service descriptions do not establish that either tracks every offer, how often alerts are sent, or its regional coverage. Check that the tracker follows the same marketplace and product listing you intend to buy; feature descriptions alone do not establish which service is more accurate.

Which Prime Day date should you track?
Amazon’s current announcement says Prime Big Deal Days 2026 begins October 6. That is the fall event, distinct from the main Prime Day 2026 event, which ran June 23–26. Check Amazon’s event page for the dates and alerts relevant to your marketplace, since event timing is time-sensitive.
