Use three layers so you hear about results early and can still verify the official filing: monitor NSE and BSE board-meeting or event-calendar notices for an expected date, subscribe to the issuer’s Investor Relations email list when available, and confirm the released result in the exchange’s Financial Results or Corporate Filings Announcements record. A board-meeting notice is only a forecast; the exchange filing, attachment and timestamp are the authoritative confirmation.
What an earnings alert actually tells you
Indian listed companies disclose results through several related notices. They are not interchangeable, so your alert setup should distinguish them:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- Advance notice: A board-meeting or event-calendar entry says the company intends to meet for a purpose such as “Financial Results” or “Quarterly Results.” It gives you an expected window, not the result itself.
- Exchange announcement: The company’s filing appears in an exchange announcement feed. This is the point at which a result document, outcome, or related communication is available for inspection.
- Issuer email: An Investor Relations (IR) mailing list may send a message when the company uploads results, press releases, or reports. Availability and timing are company-specific.
- Third-party notification: An outside service may combine exchange data with email, push, Telegram, WhatsApp, or another channel. Treat it as a prompt to check the exchange, not as the source of record.
Using all three official layers covers both lead time and verification. Calendar notices help you prepare; issuer or exchange messages tell you that something may have been published; the filed document and its timestamp establish what was actually released.
Set up NSE alerts and checks
Find filed results in NSE Corporate Filings Announcements
- Open NSE’s Corporate Filings Announcements page.
- Enter the company name or its NSE trading symbol.
- Set the Subject filter to Financial Results, or search the subject field for “results” if the exact label is not shown.
- Choose a date range. The available shortcuts include 1D, 1W, 1M, 3M, 6M, 1Y, and Custom.
- Review the returned broadcast date and time. Open the relevant attachment rather than relying only on the headline.
- Use the CSV download when you need a local watchlist, a repeatable audit trail, or a spreadsheet of several issuers’ filings.
Search by a precise symbol and a narrow date range first. If you get no result, broaden the range, remove the subject filter, and check the company’s legal or listed name. A result may be filed under a subject wording that differs slightly from the wording used in a calendar notice.

Use NSE’s event calendar for advance notice
- Open NSE’s Corporate Filings Event Calendar.
- Filter for the company, then inspect entries whose purpose is Financial Results or an equivalent results-related label.
- Note the announced meeting date and any later revision.
- On and after that date, return to Corporate Filings Announcements and search for the actual filing.
An event-calendar date indicates when the board is expected to consider or approve results. It does not prove that the results have been filed, and a date can be changed. Do not trade solely on the calendar entry.
Check NSE Board Meetings separately
NSE’s Board Meetings page is another place to find advance intimations. Search the issuer and look for a purpose tied to financial results. Compare the date with the event-calendar entry; if the entries differ, use the latest notice and wait for the filing timestamp to confirm publication.
Track a small NSE watchlist
NSE’s corporate-filings application describes tracking the latest filings for up to five selected companies. Add your core holdings or companies you follow, then review the tracker around reporting season. This is useful for a small portfolio, but it should supplement—not replace—the detailed announcement search when you need the attachment, period, or exact time.

Set up BSE alerts and checks
Find expected dates in BSE Board Meetings
- Open BSE’s Board Meetings search.
- Search by the security name, BSE code, or ISIN.
- Set Purpose to Quarterly Results where that option applies.
- Record the meeting date and read the notice for any qualifying language or revised date.
- Recheck the search after the meeting date; a revision or postponement may be posted.
The BSE board-meeting entry is a schedule signal. It is not evidence that quarterly numbers are available.
Verify the filed document in BSE Financial Results
- Open BSE’s Financial Results page for the same company.
- Search using the company identifier and select the relevant reporting period.
- Check whether the result is marked standalone or consolidated.
- Review the filing status and the exact filing timestamp.
- Open the attached document and confirm that the period and statement type match what you intend to analyze.
Standalone and consolidated statements can show materially different revenue, profit, debt, or subsidiary effects. Record which one you used. The timestamp matters when several announcements arrive on the same day or when a company files an amended document.
Use both exchanges when the company is listed on both
NSE and BSE maintain separate announcement and results records. A company may appear on both, and the two pages can show different posting times, labels, or attachments. For dual-listed holdings, check the exchange where you normally monitor the security and use the other exchange as a cross-check. If one page is temporarily unavailable, the other can help you locate the filing, but confirm the final document and timestamp on the relevant exchange record before acting.

Subscribe to the company’s Investor Relations emails
Many issuers provide a registration form on their Investor Relations website. Look for labels such as Email Alerts, Investor Updates, Subscribe, or Register your email. Complete the form, confirm the verification email if one is sent, and keep the issuer’s address in your contacts so messages are not filtered as spam.

Coverage differs by company. Some lists send only results; others also send financial-event notices, press releases, annual reports, and quarterly reports. A BSE-hosted Nucleus Software annual-report passage states: “The Company sends an instant email alert of the quarterly/annual financial results, to all persons who get themselves registered on the Company’s website.” The same passage describes alerts and updates for financial events, financial results, press releases, and annual and quarterly reports. This is an issuer-specific disclosure, not a guarantee that every listed company offers the same service.
A BSE-hosted GoIndiGo corporate-overview passage similarly says investors can register an email address for uploads in the company’s Investor Relations section and that quarterly results and other corporate communications are filed through NSE NEAPS and the BSE Listing Centre for dissemination. The practical lesson is to subscribe at the issuer and still verify the exchange record.

When an issuer has no email form
- Check whether the IR page offers an RSS feed, contact preference, or downloadable filing list.
- Use NSE and BSE calendar searches for advance notice.
- Search the exchange announcement feed on the expected date and the following business day.
- Do not submit an address to an unofficial list merely because it promises faster alerts; check its privacy and data-retention terms first.
A practical alert plan for a small portfolio
For a handful of holdings, you can create a reliable routine without a separate notification service.
- Build an identifier sheet. Record each company’s legal name, NSE symbol, BSE code, and ISIN. Keeping all identifiers prevents a search for a similarly named security.
- Subscribe at the issuer. Register for IR emails wherever the company offers the option and complete any confirmation step.
- Review calendars before reporting season. Search NSE’s Event Calendar and Board Meetings pages and BSE Board Meetings for Financial Results or Quarterly Results purposes.
- Mark expected dates as provisional. Put the date in your calendar with a reminder, but label it “expected” until a filing appears.
- Check filings on the date. Search NSE Corporate Filings Announcements and BSE Financial Results using a short range such as 1D or 1W.
- Save the evidence. Download the attachment and, where useful, the NSE CSV. Record exchange, company, period, standalone/consolidated status, broadcast time, filing status, and document name.
- Recheck after a revision. If a board date changes or the result is amended, retain the newest filing and note what changed.
This workflow separates preparation from confirmation: calendars tell you when to look, while the exchange record tells you what was filed.

Monitoring many companies
Market-wide monitoring is harder because manually searching two exchanges for every issuer can miss a filing or create duplicate work. A third-party service can combine exchange records and deliver email, push, Telegram, or WhatsApp notifications, but evaluate it against the following criteria before relying on it:
Best Value
| Criterion | Questions to ask | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Coverage | Does it cover NSE, BSE, or both? Are all securities and filing types included? | A service that covers only one exchange can miss a dual-listed company’s record. |
| Lead time | Does it notify on a board-meeting notice, an exchange upload, or after a summary is prepared? | Earlier is not necessarily more authoritative; distinguish expected dates from filed results. |
| Delivery | Are email, push, Telegram, or WhatsApp supported, and can you set per-company rules? | The channel must be one you monitor consistently and that permits the required controls. |
| Verification | Does each alert include the exchange record, attachment, and filing timestamp? | Without a direct path to the filing, an alert is only a lead. |
| Scope | Can it handle a few holdings and a market-wide list without excessive noise? | Filtering by symbol, subject, and event type prevents alert fatigue. |
| Privacy and reliability | What data is collected, how long is it retained, and how are outages or delayed feeds disclosed? | Notification services can be late or unavailable, and your watchlist may be sensitive. |
Check the corresponding NSE or BSE record whenever a third-party alert arrives. Do not treat an aggregator’s headline, sentiment label, or condensed number as a substitute for the company’s filed statement.
How to verify an alert before you act
Use this checklist for every result notification:
- Correct issuer: Confirm the legal name, symbol, BSE code, or ISIN.
- Correct period: Check the quarter, half-year, or full-year period in the document.
- Correct statement type: Identify standalone versus consolidated results.
- Correct status: Confirm that the exchange marks the document as filed or otherwise available, rather than a draft notice or meeting proposal.
- Correct time: Record the exchange broadcast or filing timestamp, especially when comparing several alerts.
- Correct attachment: Open the document and make sure it contains the financial results, not only a board-meeting intimation.
- Latest version: Look for a revision, clarification, or amended filing before relying on a number.
Only after these checks should you compare the figures with prior periods or make an investment decision. An alert confirms that you should inspect a filing; it does not interpret the numbers for you.
Common problems and fixes
No result appears in the NSE search
- Expand the date range from 1D to 1W, 1M, or Custom.
- Try the symbol instead of the company name, then try the legal name.
- Remove the subject filter temporarily and inspect nearby announcements.
- Check whether the filing was posted on BSE and use its identifier to cross-check.
The calendar date passed but no result is visible
A board meeting may have been postponed, the filing may have been uploaded later, or the notice may refer only to consideration of results. Check for a revised board-meeting entry, then search both exchanges over several business days. Do not infer that results are delayed, approved, or negative from the absence of a posting on one page.
The issuer email never arrived
- Confirm the registration email or double-opt-in link.
- Search spam, promotions, and corporate mail quarantine folders.
- Add the issuer’s sending address to your safe list.
- Check whether the IR page says alerts are limited to selected events.
- Use exchange searches as the fallback; email availability is company-specific.
The BSE page shows more than one document
Compare the period, standalone/consolidated label, filing status, and timestamp. Open the newest applicable filing and check whether an earlier document was revised or superseded.
A third-party alert conflicts with the exchange
Use the exchange attachment and timestamp as the deciding evidence. Record the discrepancy and, if necessary, wait for a clarification or revised filing rather than acting on the summary.
Choosing the right combination of alerts
| Need | Best starting point | Limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Know roughly when a result is due | NSE Event Calendar, NSE Board Meetings, and BSE Board Meetings | Dates are expected windows and may be revised; no result is confirmed. |
| Confirm an NSE filing | NSE Corporate Filings Announcements with company, Financial Results, and date filters | You must open the attachment and interpret the filing yourself. |
| Confirm a BSE filing | BSE Financial Results with period, statement type, status, and timestamp checks | Search quality depends on using the correct security identifier. |
| Receive company-specific email | The issuer’s Investor Relations registration form | Not every issuer offers it, and message timing varies. |
| Monitor a large universe | A carefully evaluated multi-channel notification service plus exchange verification | Coverage, latency, privacy, and delivery reliability vary by provider. |
For most individual investors, the practical minimum is an issuer email subscription plus calendar checks before reporting season and direct exchange verification on result days. Add a broader notification service only when the number of companies makes manual checking impractical.
