You can set a Samsung Galaxy alarm to play a song either from an audio file on your phone or, on supported devices, through Spotify. Open the Clock app, edit or create an alarm, choose Alarm sound, select your music source, then save the alarm. Labels and available choices can vary by model, software version, and region.
Choose between a phone file and Spotify

Set a downloaded song as your alarm
- Open Clock and tap the alarm you want to change, or create a new alarm.
- Tap Alarm sound, then Ringtone. The wording or layout may differ on your phone.
- If the song is not listed, tap the + control to browse for an audio file on the device.
- Select the song and confirm. Return to the alarm screen and tap Save.
Samsung says music can be selected through Clock, including downloaded or purchased music files stored on the Galaxy device. If you do not see the file, first make sure it is available on the phone rather than only in a streaming app or cloud library. Samsung’s detailed menu path is from its Colombia support guidance, so treat the labels as a guide rather than a promise that every region and software version uses the same screens: Samsung Colombia: change the alarm tone. Samsung UK also confirms that music from Samsung Music can be set as an alarm through Clock: Samsung UK: use the Samsung Music player app.

Set a Spotify song or playlist as your alarm
- Open Clock and create or edit an alarm.
- Tap Alarm sound, then choose Spotify.
- Sign in if prompted, then select an available song or playlist.
- Return to the alarm screen and tap Save.
Samsung’s US support page documents Spotify alarm integration on Galaxy devices with One UI 3 or later, but the available Spotify choices may differ by account type. Do not assume that every account can select the same individual tracks or playlists. Samsung’s 2024 walkthrough notes that the picker may include listening-history options such as Liked Songs. If the song option is missing or the alarm does not play
- Spotify is not listed: Samsung’s documented integration requires One UI 3 or later. Availability can also vary by model, region, software version, and account type.
- The alarm vibrates but makes no sound: Open the alarm’s settings and check that its sound is enabled and the alarm volume is audible. Check vibration separately; vibration does not confirm that sound is on. Samsung’s Clock guidance describes alarm sound and volume controls: Samsung US: Calculator, Calendar, and Clock apps.
- System sound is muted: Check the Clock setting called Silence alarms when system sound is off. Samsung describes it as controlling alarm behavior when system sound is muted or set to vibrate; the exact setting and effect may depend on the device.
- Your screens do not match these steps: Samsung notes that alarm settings and screens may vary by country or model. See Samsung Canada: set and manage Galaxy alarms.
Save and verify the alarm
After choosing the song, return to the alarm’s main screen and tap Save. Check that the alarm remains enabled and that the selected sound and volume are what you intended. Clock provides alarm sound and volume controls, while vibration is a separate setting; a changed song will not help if the alarm itself is disabled or inaudible.
