To save a SiriusXM channel on most car stereos, select satellite radio, tune to the channel, then press and hold a numbered preset button until the radio confirms it. Some stereos require you to press SET first. Touchscreen controls differ by vehicle, so use the steps for your make, model, year, and infotainment system.
Save a channel with numbered preset buttons
- Turn on the radio and select the satellite-radio source.
- Tune to the SiriusXM channel you want to save.
- Press and hold the numbered memory button you want to use. If your radio requires it, press SET first, then press and hold the number.
- Watch for a confirmation message or listen for a confirmation sound. Press that same preset button later to return to the channel.
SiriusXM’s general car-stereo instructions describe the hold-to-save method and note that some radios require SET first. The exact controls depend on the radio; check the vehicle owner’s manual if the sequence does not work.

Save a preset on a touchscreen
Touchscreen layouts and save controls vary. SiriusXM’s examples for Toyota and Stellantis illustrate two different approaches, not a universal method.
Toyota interface
In the Toyota example from SiriusXM’s Toyota help page, select SiriusXM as the audio source, tune to the content, then tap the heart-shaped icon to set a preset. The page also describes Tune, channel up/down, and Browse as ways to find channels. Your vehicle’s menu may differ.

Stellantis vehicles with 360L
In the SiriusXM Stellantis 360L interface, press and hold a screen tile for a channel, on-demand show, or sports team to add it to Favorites. Holding a Preset tile can save content to both Presets and Favorites. Features and displays vary by vehicle; some content or features may require an active data connection or applicable subscription.
If you use a dock-and-play receiver with FM transmission
This setup has a separate FM-frequency step; it is not how you save a channel on an integrated factory satellite-radio tuner. Find a locally available FM frequency, tune the car’s FM radio to it, set the SiriusXM receiver to transmit on the same frequency, and confirm the audio is clear. Then save that frequency as a preset on the car’s FM radio. SiriusXM’s PowerConnect installation guidance recommends trying another frequency or a different supported audio connection if reception is unclear. FM setup is unnecessary for an integrated SiriusXM receiver or compatible streaming system.

Fix common preset problems
- A numbered button does not save the channel: Confirm the radio is in satellite-radio mode and tuned to the channel, then try pressing SET before holding the number. Check the vehicle manual for the model-specific sequence.
- The touchscreen instructions do not match: Consult the vehicle’s own help screen or owner’s manual. Controls differ across infotainment systems.
- Dock-and-play audio is unclear: Retune both the car radio and receiver to another locally available FM frequency, or try another supported audio connection.
The number of available preset slots depends on the receiver and vehicle; there is no universal capacity established for SiriusXM radios.
