On Android, Adobe Acrobat’s mobile app can convert a JPEG, JPG, or PNG to PDF, but Adobe says the feature requires an Acrobat subscription. On Windows, Snipping Tool captures and shares images, while Microsoft’s current instructions do not establish one complete image-to-PDF sequence; the exact PDF option depends on the Windows software available on your PC.
Choose the right workflow first
A screenshot and a PDF are different file types. Sharing an image from Photos, Gallery, or Snipping Tool does not automatically create a PDF. Use the path that matches what you actually need:

Send a full-page screenshot as a PDF on iPhone
This is the clearest built-in method when the content extends below the visible screen. Apple describes a full-page screenshot for content such as an entire webpage in Safari, a document, or an email.

- Open the webpage, document, or email you want to capture.
- Take an iPhone screenshot using your model’s normal button combination.
- Immediately tap the screenshot preview that appears.
- At the top of the editing screen, tap Full Page. If that tab is not offered, the current app or content is not exposing a full-page capture.
- Review the page preview and use the crop or markup controls if needed.
- Tap Done, then choose Save PDF to Files.
- Choose a folder in Files, rename the document if useful, and tap Save.
Send the PDF after saving it
- Open the Files app and browse to the folder where you saved the PDF.
- Touch and hold the file, or open it and tap the Share button.
- Choose the destination you need, such as AirDrop, Messages, or Mail. The available destinations depend on the apps and accounts configured on the iPhone.
Apple also documents sharing an ordinary screenshot with the Share button, and says ordinary screenshots are saved to Photos by default. That general share action does not mean the image has become a PDF; the explicit PDF action is the Save PDF to Files choice in the full-page workflow.
If “Full Page” is missing
- The content may fit on one screen, or the app may not support a scrolling capture.
- You may have taken a regular screenshot of a view that does not expose a longer document.
- Try the same content in Safari or another app that presents it as a continuous webpage or document.
- If you only need the visible screen, keep the screenshot as an image or use an image-to-PDF converter instead.
Convert an existing screenshot to PDF on iPhone or Android
When the screenshot is already a JPEG, JPG, or PNG in your phone’s photo library, Adobe’s Acrobat mobile help documents a conversion path for both iOS and Android. Adobe marks the feature as requiring an Acrobat subscription; it is therefore an optional paid route rather than a requirement for the iPhone full-page method above.
Android in Acrobat
- Open Acrobat mobile and sign in to an account with the required subscription.
- Choose Create, then Create PDF.
- Select the screenshot image from your device.
- Follow Acrobat’s prompts to finish the PDF and save it.
- Open the resulting PDF and use Android’s Share control to send it through your preferred app.
iOS in Acrobat
- Open Acrobat mobile and sign in to an account with the required subscription.
- Choose Add, then Create PDF.
- Select the JPEG, JPG, or PNG screenshot.
- Save the generated PDF, then use the app’s sharing control to send it.
Use Acrobat when you have one or more existing image files and accept the subscription requirement. If you are capturing a long webpage on an iPhone, Apple’s native Full Page export avoids this extra conversion step.
Capture and prepare a screenshot on Windows
Microsoft’s Snipping Tool documentation covers capturing a snip, editing it, saving an additional copy as an image, sharing it, and printing it. It also documents local OCR and redaction. The reviewed instructions do not establish one universal sequence that turns every saved snip into a PDF, so Windows users should check which PDF destination their installed apps expose.

- Open Snipping Tool from the Windows Start menu, or use the Windows screenshot shortcut available on your edition.
- Choose the snip mode and select the region, window, or screen area.
- When the capture opens in Snipping Tool, make any required crop, markup, OCR, or redaction changes.
- Save a copy as an image, share it directly, or choose Print if you want to investigate the PDF destinations available on that PC.
When your Windows build offers a PDF printer
If the print dialog on your computer lists a PDF destination, select it, confirm the page and orientation settings, choose the output filename and folder, and save. The label and availability of that destination vary by Windows edition, installed apps, and organizational policy. If no PDF destination appears, Snipping Tool alone has not provided a verified conversion path; use a PDF-capable application already approved by your organization or convert the original image on a phone with a supported Acrobat subscription.

Move a phone screenshot to Windows before sending it
USB import with Windows Photos
Microsoft’s Photos documentation says you can import images from an iPhone or Android phone connected by a USB cable that supports file transfer.
- Connect the phone to the PC with a data-capable USB cable.
- Unlock the phone and approve any prompt allowing photo or file access.
- Open Photos in Windows and use its import option for the connected device.
- Select the screenshot and import it to the PC.
- Convert or send the image using the PDF workflow available on your Windows installation.
Recent Android screenshots with Phone Link
Microsoft also documents access to recent Android photos and screenshots through Phone Link without a USB cable. The feature is for recent photos and does not import videos. For the file-sharing feature described by Microsoft, the listed requirements are Windows 11, Android 10 or later, Link to Windows version 1.24032.518.0 or later, and Phone Link version 1.24032.156.0 or later. Compatibility and requirements can change, so verify them in your current Microsoft apps.
- Pair the Android phone with Windows using Phone Link and Link to Windows.
- Open the phone’s recent photos or screenshots in Phone Link.
- Copy or send the selected screenshot to the PC.
- Look in
DownloadsPhone Link, the default received-file folder Microsoft describes, unless you changed the destination in Phone Link settings. - Use the PDF option available in your Windows software, then share the saved PDF.
Send the PDF safely and preserve quality
- Check the file type: In Files, Acrobat, or File Explorer, confirm the filename ends in
.pdf, not.png,.jpg, or.webp. - Open it once: Verify that the page is complete, especially after a long-page capture or a conversion from a tall image.
- Use the original: Send the saved PDF rather than a screenshot of the PDF preview; rescreening can reduce readability.
- Choose the destination deliberately: AirDrop, Messages, Mail, and other share targets expose different size limits and account requirements.
- Protect sensitive content: Crop or redact private information before sending. Snipping Tool’s redaction tools operate locally according to Microsoft’s documentation, but you should still inspect the final PDF before sharing.

The iPhone PDF contains only the visible screen
You likely saved a regular screenshot or the app did not offer Full Page. Reopen the screenshot preview immediately after capture and look for the Full Page tab. If it is absent, capture the content in a supported continuous webpage or document view, or convert the resulting image instead.
The shared file is still an image
Check the extension and reopen the file in a PDF viewer. On iPhone, use Save PDF to Files for a full-page capture. For an existing JPEG, JPG, or PNG, use the documented Acrobat mobile conversion path or a PDF destination available on Windows.
Acrobat does not show image-to-PDF creation
Adobe states that this feature requires an Acrobat subscription. Sign in with the subscribed account, or use the iPhone’s built-in full-page export when that is the type of capture you need.

Windows cannot find the phone
For USB import, use a cable that supports file transfer, unlock the phone, and approve access. For Phone Link, check that the phone and PC meet Microsoft’s listed requirements and that Link to Windows and Phone Link are at the required versions. If the feature is unavailable, import through Photos instead.
The PDF is incomplete or unreadable
Open the saved file before sending it. Long pages can require a full-page capture rather than a visible-screen snip; images can also become difficult to read when resized or recompressed by a sharing app. Send the original saved PDF and, if necessary, provide the source URL separately.
A webpage capture is blocked or full of popups
Manual browser captures may show consent banners, newsletter dialogs, or chat widgets.
