If your Galaxy is connected to a Wi-Fi network, open Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi, tap the gear icon beside the connected network, then tap QR code. Another compatible device can scan the code to join. Samsung’s instructions describe this as sharing access; they do not establish that the QR screen shows the saved password as readable text.
Share a connected Wi-Fi network with a QR code
- Connect the Samsung phone to the Wi-Fi network you want to share. Samsung’s documented QR method requires the phone to be connected to that network.
- Open Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi.
- Tap the gear or settings icon beside the connected network.
- Tap QR code. Its label or position can vary by model and software.
- Have the other device scan the displayed code and follow its prompt to connect.
Samsung describes this feature as a way for another device to join without typing the network details. The support instructions do not say that the standard QR screen displays the password in plain text. Samsung Gulf’s sharing instructions and Samsung Singapore’s guide explain the QR-based process.

Can you view the saved password as text?
The Samsung support pages cited here establish how to share the network through a QR code, not a universal way to reveal the saved password as readable text. If the QR option only lets the other device connect, it may not answer a need to read or write down the password.

For the actual password, check the router label or ask the network administrator or internet provider. If you expect a password-viewing option on your phone, check the support information for your exact Galaxy model and software version rather than relying on a menu path that may not apply.

Another option: request the password on supported Galaxy devices
The European Galaxy Z Fold6 user manual documents a contact-based Request password flow for a secured network. It is a model-specific alternative, not a universal Galaxy setting.
- On the requesting device, select the secured Wi-Fi network and tap Request password, if that option is available.
- The requesting and connected users must have each other saved in their contacts.
- The connected device’s screen must be on, and its user must accept the request.
- After acceptance, the requesting device enters the password and connects.
These requirements are documented in Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold6 European user manual, revision dated 2024-08-14.

Why the option or scan may not work
- No QR option: The documented sharing steps start from a network the phone is already connected to. Menu labels and screen layouts may differ by model, software version, and carrier. Samsung Colombia notes that settings can vary; see its Wi-Fi connection guidance and check support for your device.
- The other device cannot connect: It needs to support QR-based Wi-Fi connection. Older software may lack that support, and network restrictions or router security settings can interfere, according to Samsung Gulf’s guide.
- You are trying to share mobile data: This QR procedure shares a connected Wi-Fi network, not a mobile hotspot or cellular-data connection. Samsung Colombia distinguishes Wi-Fi connection from mobile data sharing.
- You need the password itself: A QR scan that connects a device does not by itself establish that the password is visible as text. Use the router label or contact the network administrator if you need the characters.
Samsung’s exact steps and available features depend on the device and software. If the path differs on your phone, consult Samsung support for its specific model rather than assuming every Galaxy has the same menu.
