Use Puppeteer to open the product page, wait until the intended price is visible, then capture either the full page with page.screenshot() or the price element with ElementHandle.screenshot(). Magento does not have one universal price selector: inspect the target store’s rendered markup, and for configurable or other complex products capture only after the relevant options and price state are clear.
Choose what the screenshot needs to prove
A price image can preserve the surrounding product context or focus tightly on the amount. Choose the capture method before writing the script:

Puppeteer documents page captures with Page.screenshot() and element captures with ElementHandle.screenshot(). Screenshot options include path to save a file, type to select an image format, fullPage for the full page, and clip for a bounded region; see the ScreenshotOptions API.

Check which product price state is on screen
Simple products
A simple product can have a defined price. The visible storefront may also distinguish a regular price from a final price, such as when a sale is shown. Keep the currency and any displayed price labels in frame if the image will be used as evidence.

Configurable and other complex products
Complex products can display a price range, and the amount shown for a configurable product can change with selected options. Inspect the actual storefront and decide whether the intended artifact should show the range or a price after selecting a particular variant. Do not assume that a single node or selector represents every product state or theme.
Adobe’s Catalog Service products query documents product details and price distinctions, including simple-product prices and ranges for complex products. This API information is useful context, not a requirement for taking a browser screenshot. Adobe’s GraphQL documentation describes product data as storefront content Commerce and Magento Open Source can provide; exact schema and availability depend on the installation and service used.
Build a Puppeteer capture
Install Puppeteer in your project with npm install puppeteer. Replace the URL and selector below with values inspected on the target storefront. The selector is deliberately site-specific; it is not a Magento-wide selector.

Treat that as a starting point rather than a guarantee: storefront scripts, delayed price updates, and ongoing network activity vary. The installed Puppeteer version also matters; the documentation search result reported version 25.12.0 in 2026, but check the API reference against the version installed in your project.
Capture the full product page
To retain context instead of taking an element-only image, replace the element capture with:

Wait for the intended price, not just page navigation
A successful navigation does not prove that the price has reached its final state. Identify the visible price node in the browser’s rendered DOM, then wait for that node or for a store-specific condition that indicates the relevant selection has been applied. If selecting a product option causes a re-render, wait for the updated price and locate the element again before capturing.
- Open the product URL in a browser and inspect the visible price markup.
- Determine whether the product needs a variant, bundle choice, or other option selected to show the amount you intend to capture.
- Use a selector or readiness check appropriate to that page and state. Confirm that the price is visible, not merely present in hidden markup.
- Capture the page or element only after the correct price and its useful context appear.
There is no universal Magento timing rule or selector. A theme, extension, or storefront implementation can change both the markup and when the amount updates.

Keep price evidence interpretable
A screenshot records what the browser rendered at capture time; by itself it does not establish that the amount applies to every customer, region, currency, or product configuration. If the image is evidence for an audit or comparison, record the product URL, capture date and time, selected variant or options, and relevant storefront context alongside the image. Keep the currency and any option labels visible where possible.
Troubleshoot common capture failures
- Selector wait times out: The selector may not match the target store, the price may not have rendered, or the intended option may not be selected. Inspect the rendered DOM, replace the example selector, and wait for the correct visible state.
- Element screenshot reports a detached node: The page re-rendered after the element was found. Re-run the selector after the update, then capture the newly attached handle.
- Screenshot shows an old or range price: The page may still be showing its initial state, or a product option has not been applied. Confirm the intended options and wait for the displayed amount to update before locating the price again.
- Capture is blank or missing context: Check that the page navigation completed and that the target is visible in the selected viewport or capture mode. Use a page screenshot when title, currency, or option context matters.
- Full-page image is difficult to read: A long page may make the price small in the resulting image. Capture the relevant element or a suitable clip instead, while retaining enough context to interpret it.
