To show a Google ad and an organic listing in one screenshot, search for your query, wait for the results to settle, then capture the browser viewport once the query, a result labeled “Sponsored,” and at least one organic result are all visible and readable. Use a full-page capture only when you need results farther down the page; a long image can make the labels harder to inspect.
Capture a readable screenshot in your browser
- Open Google and search for the query you want to document. Wait for the page to finish loading and settle.
- Adjust the browser window or zoom until the query, a “Sponsored” ad label, and at least one organic listing fit on screen at a readable size. Ads do not always appear in the same position, so use the label visible on that page.
- Capture the visible screen. On Windows, Google lists Windows+Print Screen; on macOS, it lists Command+Shift+3. On a Mac, Command+Shift+4 lets you select a specific area. See Google Ads Help’s screenshot guidance and Apple Support’s screenshot instructions.
- Check the saved image: the query, “Sponsored” label, and organic result should remain visible and legible. If you crop the image for publication, retain those details and enough surrounding page context to make the relationship clear.
Choose viewport, full-page, or selected-area capture

Capture the full page with Chrome DevTools
Chrome includes a full-size screenshot command in DevTools. Open DevTools with Command+Option+I on Mac, or F12 / Control+Shift+I on Windows or Linux. Open the DevTools command interface and search for “Capture full size screenshot.” The command is separate from the shortcut for opening DevTools, and its location or availability can vary with Chrome and DevTools versions; use the current command menu if the wording or interface differs. Before sharing a full-page image, zoom in to check that the “Sponsored” label and the organic listing can still be read. If they cannot, make a viewport capture instead.
Keep the search context clear
Google defines an organic result as “A free listing in Google Search that appears because it’s relevant to someone’s search terms.” Google describes paid advertisements as non-organic results and says ads above organic results carry a “Sponsored” box. Search layouts can change, so identify ads by the label shown at capture time rather than assuming they will always appear in a particular place. See Google Ads Help.
