What you need to decide before capturing

Configure Playwright and capture the page

This is a minimal browser-automation example, not a claim of an end-to-end test. For pages whose relevant content loads later, wait for a specific locator or state before capturing rather than assuming navigation completion means the page is ready.

Capture the viewport or one element

For the current viewport, omit fullPage:

Let the agent inspect and operate the page

An AI agent can use an accessibility snapshot or equivalent structured page inspection to find controls, then interact with them and capture the resulting state. Playwright MCP documents a workflow where element references from snapshots are used for interaction. Keep the distinction clear: structured inspection is useful for locating and operating controls; a screenshot is the visual record of the page’s layout and rendered content.

When the task involves a dialog, tab, or other changed state, have the agent confirm the state before capture. This avoids saving a screenshot of the page before the intended interaction has taken effect.

Verify that the request used an Indian egress location

Check the egress IP or location using a suitable IP-check endpoint through the same browser and proxy configuration, then inspect the target page’s result. This check is a way to verify the route used by that request, not a guarantee about how the target site will behave.

Keep proxy credentials out of source control, logs, screenshots, and agent-visible output. Choose a proxy based on the actual task

• Location precision: confirm country coverage and whether your task needs a more specific location. Verify the observed egress rather than relying only on advertised coverage.
• Session behavior: determine whether the workflow needs a stable session or changing IPs, and what controls the provider offers.
• Browser compatibility: check the proxy protocol, authentication method, credential handling, certificate requirements, and compatibility with your Playwright runtime.
• Reliability and cost: assess the actual target and capture job. Check current billing units, traffic and concurrency limits, trial restrictions, and overage terms; provider terms can change. Vendor network statistics are not independent benchmarks.
• Access and sourcing: review the provider’s sourcing statements, verification requirements, acceptable-use rules, and the target site’s requirements. • The image dimensions do not match CSS coordinates: device scale affects output pixels. Choose the scale with the intended use in mind: visual inspection at higher resolution and alignment with CSS-pixel coordinates may call for different output dimensions.
• A target behaves differently than expected: confirm the egress and inspect the rendered page, but do not treat an IP check as proof that the site uses location alone to decide what to show.
