How to Screenshot a Shopify Store with PagePeeker: A Guide for Indian Sellers

To get a thumbnail of a public Shopify storefront with PagePeeker, send its public URL to PagePeeker’s V2 thumbs.php endpoint with a supported size and any account parameters required by your setup. This is a PagePeeker URL/API workflow—not a Shopify admin feature. The reviewed PagePeeker documentation does not establish that captures originate in India, so a screenshot should not be treated as proof of what an Indian customer sees.

What you need before making a PagePeeker request

  • The URL of the public Shopify storefront or specific public page you want captured.
  • A PagePeeker entrypoint and account setup appropriate to your use. Do not copy an example with a made-up account code.
  • A thumbnail size supported for your account.

Use a page that is available on the public Online Store. Shopify’s Storefront API documents that a page’s onlineStoreUrl can be null if the page is not published to the Online Store sales channel (Shopify Page object). The reviewed sources do not establish that PagePeeker can access password-protected, authenticated, or unpublished storefront pages.

Request a Shopify screenshot with PagePeeker V2

  1. Copy the target URL. Use the public address of the storefront or the particular page to capture.
  2. Choose a size. PagePeeker’s API documentation lists these standard dimensions: t 90 × 68 px, s 120 × 90 px, m 200 × 150 px, l 400 × 300 px, and x 480 × 360 px. Premium accounts may have additional sizes.
  3. Build the V2 request. The documented URL form is http://{entrypoint}.pagepeeker.com/v2/thumbs.php?size={size}&code={code}&refresh={refresh}&wait={wait}&url={url}. Replace the placeholders with your applicable entrypoint, account details, size, optional premium settings, and target URL. URL-encode the target URL as required by PagePeeker.
  4. Retrieve and inspect the image. PagePeeker documents diagnostic headers for paid and unbranded accounts, including capture method, capture time, final redirected URL, capture timestamp, and error status. Use the available headers to distinguish a successful capture from an error or a redirect to an unexpected page.

PagePeeker recommends API V2; its legacy V1 is discontinued and redirects to V2. See the PagePeeker API documentation for the current account-specific request details.

Automate captures and check whether a thumbnail is ready

For server-side use, PagePeeker describes a readiness workflow rather than requiring every caller to wait synchronously: request or refresh a thumbnail, poll thumbs_ready.php, then retrieve the thumbnail once it is ready. The refresh and wait parameters are premium options. PagePeeker says wait can delay the response while generation finishes rather than returning a placeholder. Exact parameter requirements depend on the account and current API documentation.

PagePeeker states that its robot may attempt to fetch a page at intervals of 5–7 days. That is the vendor’s stated robot policy, not a guarantee for every capture or a statement that every plan caches for that period. The site owner can block the robot with a robots.txt rule containing User-agent: PagePeeker and Disallow: /; check the PagePeeker robot policy if you control the site and need to understand this behavior.

Compare PagePeeker’s listed free and paid options

The following are PagePeeker’s listed terms, accessed October 3, 2026—not independent speed tests. Pricing, quotas, caching, and features can change, so confirm them on the vendor’s pages before choosing a plan.

What Indian sellers should—and should not—infer from the image

PagePeeker’s reviewed API and robot-policy pages describe fetching pages and generating thumbnails, but do not document an India-based capture location, geographic targeting, or a location override. A store owner being in India does not make the resulting screenshot an India-specific customer view. If your storefront changes by geography, inspect the capture and separately verify PagePeeker’s current location capabilities before relying on it to represent a regional experience.

Likewise, Shopify’s public page URL can make a suitable target for a screenshot request, but that does not mean Shopify has a PagePeeker button or dedicated integration. The workflow described here is direct linking or API use.

Troubleshoot common capture problems

  • The request returns the wrong page or an error: check that the target URL is public and correctly URL-encoded; inspect the final redirected URL and error status in available diagnostic headers.
  • The screenshot is a placeholder or not ready: for an automated workflow, use the documented readiness check with thumbs_ready.php before retrieving the thumbnail. If your account supports the premium wait option, consult the current docs for its use.
  • A private or unpublished Shopify page is not captured: this basic workflow is for public URLs. Shopify may not provide an onlineStoreUrl for a page not published to the Online Store, and PagePeeker support for authenticated or password-protected pages is not established in the reviewed documentation.
  • A site owner wants to stop PagePeeker access: the vendor’s robot policy describes blocking its crawler with a robots.txt entry for User-agent: PagePeeker and Disallow: /.
  • The screenshot does not reflect an Indian visitor’s content: the reviewed materials do not establish capture geography controls. Do not assume an India-localized result; verify the service’s current capabilities and check the output.

If you would rather call a screenshot API than configure PagePeeker, ScreenshotNeo takes a screenshot or PDF from one GET request. For example, with cURL:

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://your-store.myshopify.com -o shot.webp

See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options. ScreenshotNeo removes cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots, and the free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Sign up free for ScreenshotNeo.
