On iPhone, the buttons depend on the model; on Android, Power + Volume Down is common, but controls vary. Because a portal page may contain sensitive health information, review the image and share it only with the intended recipient through an appropriate channel.
Sign in and open only the page you need
- Go directly to the hospital’s official website or app. Check that the address and hospital are correct before entering patient credentials; avoid login links in unsolicited messages.
- Sign in using the portal’s normal process. The Government of India’s ORS Patient Portal is one example: it supports appointment and health-record access and prompts users to select a hospital and identify themselves. Other hospitals may use different portals and steps.
- Navigate to the exact record or page. If you need one item, avoid opening or displaying unrelated records or another patient’s information.
Some portals may provide a download, print, or export option. Availability depends on the hospital and portal; if you need the page for a formal request, insurance claim, clinical review, or legal record, ask the intended recipient whether an official download or printout is preferable.

Android
On many Android phones, press Power and Volume Down at the same time. Button behavior can differ by manufacturer, model, and software version, so if that does not work, look for the device’s screenshot control or consult the manufacturer’s current instructions. Google’s Android Community screenshot guide covers Android devices and Pixel phones, but it is not a universal manufacturer specification.
Review and protect the image
Patient-portal pages can include visit details, examinations, diagnoses, medical history, treatment, prescriptions, and investigation orders. Government health information describes personal health records as managed, shared, and controlled by the individual; the National Health Authority’s support FAQ also discusses hospital confidentiality, though it is an older, context-specific source rather than a complete statement of current Indian law.

- Check the screenshot before keeping or sending it. Crop or redact unrelated details, and make sure the names and identifiers shown are appropriate for the intended recipient.
- Keep it in a location protected by your device’s normal lock and account protections. Be mindful of shared photo galleries, lock-screen previews, and messaging previews.
- Share only with the person or organization that needs it, using a channel the hospital or recipient recommends. Delete extra copies when they are no longer needed, including copies in Recently Deleted or Trash if appropriate.
- Avoid third-party screenshot, OCR, cloud-storage, or image-sharing tools for patient information unless you understand where the data goes and have a valid reason to use them. Do not disable portal or device security restrictions to capture a page.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s ABDM/PHR overview describes personal health records and the role of ABHA in interaction with participating healthcare providers and receipt of digital records. The National Health Authority support FAQ describes confidentiality expectations for patient records; check the specific hospital’s current terms or support guidance for rules that apply to its portal.
