In Chrome on Android, open the page, wait until the content you need has loaded, then tap More > Share > Long screenshot. Adjust the crop handles, tap Confirm, and save or share the image. A long screenshot captures what has loaded; it does not make a slow connection faster or recover content that never arrived.
Capture a full webpage in Chrome
- Open the page while connected. Let the part you want to capture finish loading. On a slow connection, wait for images, text, and other visible content to appear before starting the screenshot.
- Open Chrome’s sharing menu. Tap More beside the address bar, then tap Share.
- Choose Long screenshot. Drag the crop handles to include the length of the page you want. Google’s Chrome instructions describe extending the screenshot by dragging the crop handles; they do not establish a universal maximum length.
- Confirm and save or share. Tap Confirm, then choose where to save the image or which app to use to share it.
Google documents this Chrome route in its instructions for sharing tabs in Chrome on Android. Menu availability and labels can vary by Chrome version or device; if Long screenshot is absent, try Android’s scrolling screenshot option below.

What a slow connection changes
The screenshot records page content that has rendered on the screen. Waiting for the needed section to load is therefore important: a screenshot cannot show content that has not reached the page. This is a practical consequence of the capture workflow, not a loading or network bypass offered by Chrome.

If Chrome reports ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT, Google says the page took too long to connect; a slow connection or a busy page may be the cause. A screenshot cannot resolve that error. Retry when the connection is more stable, or capture only after the page has loaded the material you need. Google’s explanation is in its help for common Chrome error messages.

If Chrome’s Long screenshot option is unavailable
Try Android’s Capture more control
Android 12 and later offer Capture more on most screens that allow scrolling. Take a regular screenshot, tap Capture more if it appears, adjust the crop guides, and save the result. The option is not supported on every device or screen, and it is a system screenshot route rather than Chrome’s page-sharing menu. See Android Help’s screenshot instructions.
Take a regular screenshot if scrolling capture is unsupported
The common Android shortcut is Power + Volume down, but button methods vary by phone. If that combination does not work, use the manufacturer’s instructions. A regular screenshot captures the visible screen rather than extending down the page.

Prepare for a connection drop: save the page offline
If you expect connectivity to disappear, download the page before it does: while online, open the page in Chrome and tap More > Download. Later, open More > Downloads and select the saved page. Google’s guidance says a page must be online to save it for offline reading.

A downloaded page is a reading fallback, not a guaranteed full-page screenshot or an exact preserved copy of a live site. Google’s instructions do not promise that scripts, live updates, or content that had not loaded when you saved the page will be preserved. Troubleshooting
- The page is incomplete in the screenshot: Wait for the missing content to load, then capture again. A screenshot cannot include content that never loaded.
- Chrome times out before the page opens: Google identifies a slow connection or a busy page as possible reasons for
ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT. Retry when the connection is more stable; the screenshot feature does not bypass the timeout. - There is no Long screenshot entry: Check More > Share in Chrome. If it is not offered, try Android’s Capture more after taking a screenshot; it is available on Android 12 and later on most, not all, scrollable screens.
- The Power and Volume down shortcut does not work: Screenshot button combinations depend on the phone. Consult the device manufacturer’s support instructions.
- The connection may vanish before you finish: Download the page in Chrome while online, then retrieve it from More > Downloads. This supports offline reading but does not guarantee that unloaded or live content is saved.
