Instead, schedule each replay video in YouTube Studio, then add it to the right playlist as a separate step. If you mean a live rebroadcast rather than a finished recording, schedule a stream in Live Control Room and connect an encoder.
Schedule recorded news replays and add them to a playlist
- Prepare the replay. In YouTube Studio, upload the finished video and enter its title, description, thumbnail, and other channel details.
- Set its publication time. In the upload flow’s Schedule card, choose the date, time, and time zone, then select Schedule. YouTube says this makes the private video public at the selected time. See YouTube’s scheduled publishing instructions.
- Create or choose the playlist. In Studio, go to Content > Playlists. Create a playlist with a clear title, description, visibility, and arrangement, or open the existing playlist for that region, language, bulletin, or date range. YouTube allows playlist titles up to 150 characters and descriptions up to 5,000 characters. See YouTube’s playlist management guide.
- Add the video separately. Add the scheduled or published video to the playlist using search, its URL, or your channel library. Check that it appears in the intended playlist and drag it into the desired position. Scheduling a video does not, in the documented workflow, automatically add it to a playlist.
- Check the result. Verify the video’s scheduled state, playlist placement and ordering, and the playlist’s visibility. After publication, check the public video and playlist as a viewer would see them.
Choose an archive order viewers can follow
Use a consistent naming pattern, for example region, bulletin type, and date. Decide whether the playlist should put the newest replay first, run chronologically, or follow a manually chosen editorial sequence. Treat those choices as newsroom conventions, not YouTube requirements.

For a recurring, official collection intended to be watched together, you can consider a series playlist. The channel account must be verified; each video can belong to only one series playlist; and the playlist can include only videos uploaded by that channel for which it has the necessary rights. Account for India time and the public watch-page date
Choose the intended Indian local time in Studio, and check the scheduled item before relying on it. YouTube says the date shown as “published on” on a video’s watch page is based on Pacific Standard Time (PST). When a video is scheduled from a time zone ahead of PST, the date displayed in Studio and the date visible on the watch page can differ. If the calendar date matters to viewers, check the public watch page after publication rather than assuming it will show the same date as the Studio schedule. YouTube’s guidance does not establish a separate India-only scheduling interface or resolve every India/PST edge case. See YouTube’s scheduled publishing instructions.

If the replay is a live rebroadcast
For a live bulletin or continuous feed, schedule a stream rather than scheduling a finished video upload. In YouTube Studio, go to Create > Go Live > Manage > Schedule stream. You can reuse settings from a previous stream or create a new one. Share the scheduled stream page in advance if viewers should be able to set a reminder. Connect an encoder and protect the stream key
- In Live Control Room, open the scheduled stream and copy its YouTube server URL and stream key.
- Enter those values in your encoder’s YouTube streaming settings and start the encoder feed.
- Keep the stream key private: it is the credential YouTube uses to accept the feed.
- When the broadcast ends, check the archive’s visibility before sharing it. YouTube says encoder streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; organize the resulting archive and highlights into an appropriate playlist.

Plan the playlist format and publishing cadence
YouTube documents a playlist “show” feature for serial and non-serial formats, along with playlist shelves on a channel’s home tab. Episode numbering and order can depend on publish date or a manually specified order. Check whether these controls are available in your Studio before building the channel layout around them. Choose a frequency and format the newsroom can sustain, taking its content volume into account, and tell viewers when the schedule changes. See YouTube’s guidance on upload schedules.

Check rights and publishing details before relying on automation
- Confirm the newsroom has the rights needed to publish the footage, audio, and other material. A series playlist is limited to eligible videos uploaded by the channel for which it has rights.
- Test the schedule and playlist workflow with a non-sensitive video or private draft before using it for a recurring bulletin.
- Check titles, dates, visibility, and playlist order after each scheduled release, especially when a correction or late editorial change affects the rundown.
- Set a sustainable cadence and tell viewers when it changes. The cited YouTube guidance does not establish India-specific news licensing rules or newsroom legal requirements, so check the policies that apply to your operation.
