YouTube Studio can schedule a livestream, but it does not provide a documented setting to switch playlists at set times inside one continuous live feed. To run morning, daytime, evening, and overnight meditation programming on a 24/7 channel, use a streaming workflow that sends the video to YouTube and explicitly supports timed playlist transitions. YouTube’s Live Streaming API can manage broadcasts and streams, but your encoder or cloud service must decide which content plays and when.
First decide: separate broadcasts or one continuous stream?
These are different programming models. A scheduled broadcast is a YouTube event with its own watch page; a continuous broadcast is one ongoing live video whose incoming content can change over time. YouTube’s API describes a broadcast as an event viewers can watch and a stream as the audio-video feed sent to YouTube. A broadcast is bound to one stream, and that stream can be reused for multiple broadcasts. Google’s Live Streaming API guide also gives an example of keeping a 24/7 broadcast live while another broadcast ends.

- Choose separate broadcasts if viewers should see distinct scheduled events, such as a morning meditation and an evening session. Schedule each event in YouTube’s live workflow, and arrange for a feed to be present when each starts.
- Choose one continuous broadcast if you want one live video to remain available while the content changes by daypart. The streaming system—not a documented YouTube playlist scheduler—must perform each transition.
If keeping a single continuous meditation channel live is the goal, plan around the second model. Do not assume that scheduling a YouTube event also schedules the content that an encoder sends into it.
Check channel eligibility and live-stream limits
Before configuring the feed, confirm the channel can livestream. YouTube’s live-streaming requirements say the channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. YouTube lists encoder streaming among its supported ways to go live.

Choose how the feed reaches YouTube
Local encoder or software
A computer running an encoder can send the live feed to YouTube. The encoder handles transmission; a separate playlist or automation feature must select and transition between the meditation videos. This approach gives you control over the local setup, but the computer, encoder, and network connection need to remain operational for a continuous feed. Confirm that the specific software supports timed transitions, looping, the intended time zone, and recovery behavior before building the schedule around it.

Cloud streaming service
A cloud service can send prerecorded video without requiring your home computer to stay on. Check its current documentation and plan terms for 24/7 operation, timed playlist changes, loops, time-zone and daylight-saving handling, duration caps, and what happens after an interruption. For example, OneStream Live’s 24/7 streaming instructions, last updated September 3, 2026, describe selecting video content, choosing a YouTube channel, and scheduling a 24-hour stream. The page says the feature requires Enterprise and sets a maximum duration of 30 days. It does not, by itself, establish that a particular timed playlist-transition schedule is supported; verify that behavior and current terms with the service.

Build a daypart schedule that the streaming system can execute
Start with the programming plan, then configure the transitions in the selected encoder or cloud service. The following is a planning example, not a YouTube preset:
| Daypart | Example programming | Transition to specify |
|---|---|---|
| Morning | Gentle guided meditation or breath practice | Start at the chosen local morning time |
| Daytime | Quiet focus or shorter guided sessions | Switch from morning content at the planned boundary |
| Evening | Wind-down meditation or relaxation | Switch at the selected evening time |
| Overnight | Low-stimulation meditation or suitable ambient practice | Switch at the overnight boundary and loop as intended |
For every boundary, specify the playlist or video, the exact start time, the time zone, whether playback should finish the current video or cut immediately, and what should play if an item is unavailable. Check whether the service interprets the schedule in a fixed time zone or the account’s local time, and how it handles daylight-saving changes. Do not assume these details from the word “schedule.”

Set up and test the YouTube broadcast
- Verify the channel and live eligibility. Confirm the channel meets YouTube’s verification and restriction requirements before making a public schedule.
- Create a test live broadcast in YouTube Studio. Open YouTube Studio and use its live-stream workflow to create or schedule a test event. The exact labels can change; follow the current prompts in Live Control Room.
- Choose the feed workflow. Configure a local encoder or cloud service to send the video feed to YouTube. YouTube’s API workflow distinguishes the broadcast from the stream: create or select the appropriate resources, configure the encoder from the stream’s delivery settings, and bind the broadcast to the stream.
- Configure daypart transitions outside YouTube. Enter the playlist sequence and schedule in the tool that actually controls playback. Confirm its time zone, loop behavior, and boundary rules.
- Run a full cycle before announcing it. Observe each daypart boundary, confirm the intended content appears, and check audio continuity and levels. Test the selected workflow’s recovery and restart behavior rather than assuming it will resume correctly.
- Prepare a fallback. Keep an alternate playlist or a documented restart procedure available, and check service duration limits against the length of time you intend to run the broadcast.
The API offers a route for developers who want to manage broadcasts programmatically, including recurring broadcasts and a continuous-broadcast pattern. It does not replace the playback scheduler: your code or software still has to choose and send the right meditation playlist at each time.
Protect the channel and the meditation catalog
Confirm that you have the rights needed to livestream every recording, music track, voice, and image in the playlist. A meditation recording being online or described as royalty-free does not by itself establish permission for a continuous YouTube livestream. Review the license for livestream use, monetization if relevant, attribution, territory, and any restrictions on looping or redistribution. YouTube’s platform rules and copyright processes still apply to an always-on feed; a claim or restriction can interrupt the channel.
Also assess whether the channel’s presentation adds meaningful value and complies with YouTube’s current monetization policies if you intend to monetize it. Repeating prerecorded material is not a guarantee of monetization eligibility. Make the programming, licensing, and channel format decisions separately from the technical ability to keep a feed live.

- The YouTube event is scheduled, but no video appears: A scheduled broadcast is not the feed itself. Check that the encoder or cloud workflow is sending video and is connected to the stream bound to that broadcast.
- The stream stays live but the playlist does not change: YouTube’s documented broadcast workflow does not promise clock-based playlist switching. Check that timed transitions are configured in the playback system, and verify that the service supports them on your exact plan.
- A transition happens at the wrong hour: Inspect the scheduler’s configured time zone and daylight-saving behavior, then compare the scheduled boundary with the actual local time used by the tool.
- A video repeats or stops unexpectedly: Review the playlist order, loop setting, item availability, and end-of-playback behavior in the feed tool. Add a fallback item or restart procedure.
- The feed drops: Check the encoder or service connection and its recovery process, then confirm YouTube still shows the broadcast as live. Recovery features and limits vary by workflow; verify them with the provider.
- A long run ends before the planned restart: Check for service duration caps and plan restrictions. OneStream Live’s cited 24/7 help page states a 30-day maximum; check its current terms before scheduling a longer run.
- You cannot start a livestream: Recheck channel verification and any live-streaming restriction within the previous 90 days, then follow YouTube’s current Live Control Room prompts.
