To capture a website on a particular weekday, create a recurring weekly job, choose the weekday and time, and set the timezone deliberately. You can do this in a screenshot service’s scheduler, a no-code automation workflow, or a cron-based API job. After saving, check the next-run time and test a capture so you know both the schedule and the image are right.
What a weekly screenshot schedule needs
A recurring capture has three essential parts: the page URL, a weekly recurrence with the chosen weekday and time, and a timezone. Then select capture settings and decide where the resulting image goes. The exact controls depend on the scheduler: it might provide a visual weekday picker, a no-code trigger, or a cron expression.

Before choosing a service, check whether it supports your desired weekday and local time, how it handles daylight-saving changes, what capture controls it offers, and whether it stores or delivers images in the way you need. Set up the schedule
- Choose the scheduling method. Use a built-in scheduler if you want captures and history in one service; use a no-code workflow if you already work in an automation platform; use cron and an API if you can configure a recurring server-side job.
- Set weekly recurrence and the weekday. Choose the day and time. If the service allows multiple weekdays, confirm whether it will create one capture on each selected day.
- Set the timezone. Pick the zone for the local clock time you intend, where available. Check the displayed next run after saving. If the job must stay at the same local time through daylight-saving changes, verify how that scheduler handles the shift; the cited product documentation does not establish one behavior shared by all providers.
- Choose capture settings. Set the URL, full-page or viewport capture, screen dimensions, output format, and any supported waits or overlay-hiding options.
- Choose delivery and retention. Decide whether to retain each image, email or webhook it, or notify only when a comparison detects a change. Check the service’s current plan terms for retention and delivery limits.
- Save, inspect, and test. Confirm the weekday, timezone, URL, and next run. If available, trigger a test capture and check that it contains the content you need.

Stillio’s support documentation says current plans offer daily capture or less frequent intervals such as weekly or monthly, while its Top Shot plan supports more frequent capture. It also cautions that monthly intervals can behave unintuitively because month lengths and timezones vary. Its weekly trigger lets you select day(s), time of day, and an optional timezone override. The workflow page does not establish whether the connected services provide an image archive, change comparison, or alerts; check those requirements with the services you connect. Cron-based workflow
ScreenshotAPI.net describes setting a URL and capture options in a dashboard Query Builder, choosing a schedule, and managing recurring jobs in Schedule Requests. Its documentation describes cron as five fields, in this order: minute, hour, day of month, month, day of week. The provider’s example for Monday at 08:00 is:

Make each capture useful
Choose full-page or viewport capture
Use full-page capture when you need a visual record of the entire scrollable page. Use viewport-only capture when the initial fold or a fixed screen area is what matters. Allscreenshots documents these capture options; controls vary by product.
Keep the setup consistent
Use the same viewport or device profile and other capture settings for every run. That makes it easier to distinguish page changes from changes caused by the capture setup. This is a practical benefit of consistent settings, not a claim that every service compares images in the same way.

Account for dynamic elements
Where supported, wait for important content and hide moving or obstructive elements. Cookie banners, chat widgets, rotating ads, and counters can affect a pixel comparison even when the underlying page is unchanged. Decide what to keep and how to notify
Check how long images remain available, whether each run is retained, and whether delivery supports email, webhooks, or change-only alerts. Troubleshoot a schedule that does not behave as expected
- The capture runs at the wrong local time: check the saved timezone and the scheduler’s next-run display. A service using UTC will not necessarily follow a local clock through daylight-saving changes.
- The job does not run on the intended day: recheck the selected weekday or cron day-of-week field, and confirm whether the scheduler uses the syntax you entered. For a cron expression, verify its field order and preview the next execution when possible.
- The image is blank or misses content: inspect the URL and capture settings, then use a supported wait for the relevant content or test the page directly in a capture run. Do not assume that saving the schedule tested page rendering.
- Change alerts arrive for irrelevant differences: pixel-based comparison can react to dynamic page regions. Where supported, hide those regions or wait until content settles; otherwise, consider whether change-only alerts fit the page.
- No image appears in the expected place: check whether the workflow is configured to retain or deliver each run, and verify the selected email or webhook destination and any plan requirements.
FAQ
Does “every week” mean the same as “weekdays”?
No. A weekly trigger commonly targets a selected weekday or weekdays; a weekdays-only schedule means recurring captures on the working days selected by that product. Review the schedule summary before enabling it.
Will a weekly schedule stay at the same local time after daylight-saving changes?
That depends on the scheduler and its timezone rules. The cited documentation does not establish uniform behavior, so verify the next scheduled run around a clock change.
