YouTube Studio lets you schedule individual livestreams and reuse settings from an earlier event, but its documented workflow does not provide an automatic daily or weekly recurrence rule. For a recurring online radio show, schedule each dated event in Studio, or use the YouTube Live Streaming API to create a separate broadcast for each occurrence. Reuse a stream for sequential events; plan separate streams or a multi-broadcast setup if shows overlap.
Choose how to create each occurrence
Use YouTube Studio for a small or manually reviewed schedule
- Open YouTube Studio and select Create → Go Live.
- In Live Control Room, open the Manage tab and select Schedule stream.
- Choose whether to reuse settings from a previous stream or create new settings.
- Enter the event’s title, date and time, privacy, and other details. Review the event page and share it so listeners can find it and set reminders.
- Repeat these steps for every occurrence. Reusing settings is not the same as setting a recurring calendar rule: the documented Studio workflow schedules an individual event at a time.
This approach works well when each event needs human review or the series has a manageable number of dates. Check each event’s metadata even when reusing settings; its title, scheduled time, privacy, and audience-facing event page belong to that occurrence.

Use the YouTube Live Streaming API to automate dated events
The API distinguishes the event from the feed. A liveBroadcast is the event viewers watch; a liveStream represents the audio-video feed transmitted to YouTube. Each broadcast is associated with a stream.
- Configure the stream and the encoder that sends the station feed to YouTube.
- Create a distinct broadcast resource for each dated occurrence, with its own title, scheduled start time, and privacy status.
- Bind each broadcast to the stream intended for that event.
- Handle API errors, including account broadcast-limit failures, and confirm that each event is attached to the intended stream.
For a recurring series whose events happen at different times, the documented single-encoder pattern is one configured stream and encoder reused across distinct broadcasts. The stream can be bound to up to three broadcasts, but that capability should not be mistaken for one event recurring forever. Each occurrence remains a separate broadcast resource with its own event identity. The API requires a future start time within a range YouTube can reliably schedule; the available guidance does not establish one universal maximum scheduling horizon for all accounts.

Flowing or frozen RGB color rotation in a decent pace presents a greatly strong impression as a "light show" to your audience. Even a streaming equipment accessory will not be dull looking when video production.
Plan streams for sequential or overlapping shows
| Station situation | Suitable design | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| One show at a time, using the same encoder and feed settings | Reuse one stream for separate scheduled broadcasts at different times. | Confirm each broadcast is bound to that stream and has the correct event details. |
| Different shows may be live simultaneously and need independent encoder settings or feeds | Use a distinct stream for each broadcast or a stream for each recurring show. | Configure the encoder with the settings for the event that is going live. |
| The same feed is intentionally shown as multiple simultaneous YouTube events | Bind one stream to multiple live broadcasts. | Make sure sharing one feed is deliberate; it is different from sending independent shows. |
The right design depends on whether events carry different feeds or intentionally share the same one. If you are unsure, map the station’s schedule and encoder outputs first: identify every period when broadcasts could overlap and whether each needs a distinct audio or video feed.
Connect the station encoder and protect its stream key
The stream is the feed sent from the station’s encoder to YouTube. Check that the station’s automation or encoder produces output YouTube accepts; radio systems differ, and a station’s audio chain or visual slate may require configuration. YouTube’s encoder guidance lists AAC and MP3 audio codec support, but that does not guarantee every system’s output is compatible without checking its settings.

- Analog mixing and equalization for pure sound
- Direct mixing of PC/gaming sounds into the streaming output
- Ultra-low noise analog mixer for streaming, podcasting and recording
- Stereo USB audio interface to connect your computer or mobile device
- Choose encoder settings that are reliable on the station’s available internet connection.
- Test with representative audio and any movement or visuals used in the broadcast, then monitor stream health during the event.
- Treat the stream key as a credential: do not share it publicly. If it is compromised, use YouTube’s reset process and update the encoder with the replacement.
- Use existing compatible encoder software or equipment when possible. YouTube recommends professional-grade hardware encoders for higher-production-value events, but buying one is not a requirement for scheduling.
The material cited here does not establish one universal bitrate, resolution, or keyframe interval for every radio encoder and connection. Confirm the current YouTube settings offered for the stream and the output controls in your encoder rather than applying a guessed preset.

Copyright and channel-policy checks for radio programming
Scheduling an event does not grant the right to broadcast the music or other material in it. Before putting a show on YouTube, confirm that the station has the necessary rights for the recordings, compositions, performances, and any other material it uses. A scheduled event and a healthy encoder connection do not by themselves resolve copyright or channel-policy issues.
Likewise, reusing stream settings only reuses technical or event setup information; it does not establish that repeated programming is permitted or suitable for monetization. Review YouTube’s current copyright and channel policies for the station’s circumstances, and use rights-cleared material. The available guidance here does not establish a specific reused-content outcome for any channel or program.

Troubleshoot the recurring-event workflow
| Symptom | Likely point to check | Action |
|---|---|---|
| No automatic next event appears | Studio scheduling creates individual events; settings reuse does not create a recurrence rule. | Schedule the next dated event in Studio or create its broadcast through the API. |
| The scheduled event has no expected feed | The broadcast may be associated with the wrong stream, or the encoder may be using different settings. | Check the event-to-stream association and the encoder configuration for that occurrence. |
| The event preview does not appear | The encoder may not be sending a compatible feed, may not have started, or may be using an incorrect stream key. | Check the encoder output and key, start setup early, and confirm the preview in Live Control Room. |
| YouTube reports unhealthy stream status or the audio is wrong | Connection reliability, audio output, or encoder settings may not suit the available connection or source. | Test representative station audio, verify codec/output settings, and monitor stream health before and during the event. |
| An API broadcast cannot be created | The start time may not meet API scheduling requirements, or the account may have reached a broadcast limit. | Use a future start time within YouTube’s reliable scheduling range and handle the returned API error; the guidance cited here gives no universal scheduling-horizon number. |
| Two shows collide or carry the wrong program | One reused stream may not suit independent simultaneous feeds. | Use separate streams for independent feeds, or deliberately bind one stream to multiple broadcasts only when the same feed should appear in each. |
Or let it run in the cloud
For a pre-recorded radio program or other video file that you want to play as a YouTube livestream, StreamNeo is a cloud option: upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It loops uploaded videos; it does not take a live camera or station encoder feed, so it is not a replacement for the scheduled encoder workflow when you need to broadcast live radio audio.
- Nothing has to stay on at home: the stream runs from the cloud.
- Uploaded media streams as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot rather than quality tiers.
- StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream.
- The first day is free with no card.
The monthly option is $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo for details, or start the free first day.
