You can schedule a YouTube livestream event for a Malayalam and Kannada music channel, but scheduling the event does not make YouTube play playlists continuously. You still need an encoder to send the playlist output to YouTube and someone—or a cloud playout service—to start and maintain the broadcast. Before you go live, confirm that your music rights cover livestreaming and any replay.
What YouTube scheduling does—and does not do
A scheduled stream creates an upcoming event that you can share; eligible viewers can opt to receive a reminder. It is separate from the broadcast itself. At airtime, an encoder must connect to the event and send video and audio, and the stream must be started. YouTube’s guidance for scheduled encoder streams does not describe a YouTube Studio feature that automatically rotates playlists forever. Treat 24/7 as an operational setup you arrange, not a native playlist-scheduling option. YouTube’s scheduling guidance explains the event workflow.

Check channel eligibility first
Before planning a launch, confirm the channel can livestream. YouTube says a channel must be verified, meet the current minimum-age requirement, and have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time live-streaming activation may take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before your intended start. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance for current requirements.
Schedule the YouTube event
- In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live.
- Open Manage, then select Schedule stream.
- Choose Create new, or reuse settings from an earlier event. Review the event details and schedule it.
- Share the upcoming event page if you want viewers to find it in advance and set a reminder.
Scheduling prepares the event page; it does not send your playlist to YouTube. The official workflow is documented in YouTube Help.

Connect an encoder and start the broadcast
You need an encoder that can send your prepared playlist output to YouTube. YouTube supports software and standalone hardware encoders; it does not require a particular model or an expensive computer as a universal condition. Choose based on how you plan to assemble and play the video, and how you will monitor and recover the feed. YouTube describes encoder options in its encoder setup guide.
- Open the scheduled event in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and locate its stream URL and stream key.
- In your encoder’s connection settings, enter the event’s stream URL and key. Follow the encoder’s instructions for creating or playing the Malayalam and Kannada playlist output.
- Keep the stream key private: anyone who has it may be able to send a feed to your channel. Reset it if you believe it has been exposed. YouTube explains stream-key handling in its scheduled-stream guidance.
- Start the encoder and wait for the incoming video and audio preview in Live Control Room. Check the event page and confirm the feed looks and sounds right before starting the live broadcast.
Run a preflight before the scheduled time
YouTube recommends setting up an encoder at least two hours before an event and starting it at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time. Use that lead time to catch connection, audio, and video issues; it is operational advice, not a guarantee of uninterrupted 24/7 service. Check the preview and confirm viewers can access the event page. The timing recommendations are in YouTube’s encoder tips.

Clear music rights before scheduling songs
A Malayalam or Kannada track being available online—or labeled “free”—does not by itself establish that you can broadcast it. You are responsible for obtaining the necessary rights for the live use. YouTube’s livestream terms say the channel operator must have the necessary rights for exploitation of live content on Google services, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers and other rights participants. Review YouTube’s livestream terms and retain documentation for your planned use.

Music sources are not interchangeable
- Your own recordings: confirm you control the relevant recording and composition rights for live use and any replay.
- YouTube Audio Library: check the applicable terms for each track and the intended livestream use.
- External licenses: read the specific license for live streaming, territories, replay, and monetization rather than assuming an ordinary video-upload license is enough.
YouTube says Creator Music track licenses and revenue-sharing options described in its guidance are for long-form videos, not livestreams. Do not assume a Creator Music license covers a live broadcast. For permitted music options, consult YouTube’s Creator Music usage guidance and its Audio Library and safe-music guidance.

YouTube automatically archives streams under 12 hours. Its guidance does not promise a complete archive for one continuous 24-hour broadcast, so do not rely on that rule for a full-day replay. If retaining a replay matters, consider whether shorter scheduled sessions or a separate local recording and backup plan fit your needs; neither approach guarantees a complete archive. Choose local or cloud playout
Run the encoder yourself
A local software or hardware encoder gives you direct control of the playlist feed, but the setup depends on the encoder and must remain operational for the stream to continue. YouTube’s encoder guidance does not prescribe a specific device. Plan how you will monitor the feed and respond if the connection or encoder stops.

Troubleshoot common launch problems
- Livestreaming is unavailable: verify the channel, check eligibility and restrictions, and allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation.
- The event page exists but is not live: scheduling alone does not start a broadcast. Connect the encoder with that event’s stream URL and key, wait for the preview, then start the stream.
- No preview reaches Live Control Room: check the encoder’s connection settings, including the URL and key, then confirm that the encoder is running and sending the intended output.
- A stream is interrupted or replaced by a placeholder: investigate a possible third-party-content match and resolve rights or Content ID issues with the rights holder. YouTube may interrupt or terminate a stream after a match.
- A 24-hour replay is incomplete or unavailable: the under-12-hour archive guidance does not guarantee an archive of a continuous 24-hour stream. Plan replay capture separately.
