You can schedule photos, carousel posts, and Reels in Instagram’s mobile app if you use a professional account. The official instructions available here do not establish a native scheduling workflow for Stories, so don’t assume a Story will publish automatically. Scheduling helps you plan and manage posts; it is not, by itself, a proven way to grow followers.
How do I schedule Instagram posts?
Instagram’s Help Center describes scheduling photos and carousel posts in the mobile app for business and creator accounts. The instructions require a professional account and allow up to 25 scheduled posts per day, as far as 75 days ahead. In the Instagram app, start creating a photo post or carousel post and select and edit your media.

Open the advanced or additional settings in the publishing flow.

Turn on the scheduling option, then choose the date and time.

How do I schedule Instagram Reels?
The same surfaced mobile-app guidance covers Reels. Start a Reel, select and edit the video, then use the advanced or additional settings to enable scheduling and set its date and time. Can I schedule Instagram Stories?
The official guidance available for this article covers photos, carousels, and Reels, but does not establish whether Stories can be scheduled natively or through another Meta product. It also does not establish which account types or Story features would be eligible. For that reason, no reliable step-by-step Story-scheduling instructions can be given here; check Instagram’s current Help Center and the options in your account.

How do I manage or change scheduled content?
Instagram’s guidance says scheduled items can be managed from the profile’s scheduled-content area or from the creation flow. The listed actions are:

Reschedule: change the planned date or time.

Share now: publish the item immediately instead of waiting.

Delete: remove it from the schedule.
The exact location and labels may differ as the app changes, so use the scheduled-content controls currently shown in your account.

The surfaced Help Center guidance says scheduled content is not compatible with some features, including product tagging, collaborative posts, sponsored posts, and fundraisers. If a post depends on one of these, check its current eligibility in the app before scheduling; the feature may require a different publishing workflow. Instagram Help Center

Scheduling is a planning and publishing convenience, not evidence of follower growth on its own. The available evidence does not establish that scheduled organic posts gain more followers than posts published manually. Meta’s reported Reels performance figures concern advertising campaigns and creative tests, not the effect of scheduling organic content, so they should not be used as a growth promise.
What if a scheduled post includes affiliate links or branded content?
Meta says affiliate-link posts that earn commission involve an exchange of value, and its branded-content policy requires the paid partnership label for branded content.
