Schedule the event in YouTube Studio, connect OBS to that event with its stream URL and key, then start the prerecorded episode from OBS at the planned time. Scheduling creates an upcoming YouTube watch page; it does not, by itself, start playback from your computer. The steps below cover both parts so viewers can find the event and the rerun actually reaches it.
Before you schedule the rerun
- Your channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. YouTube limits live streaming to people aged 16 or older.
- Have the finished Hindi podcast episode ready and confirm that you have the rights to the recording, music, clips, and other material in it. A scheduled event does not grant permission to use copyrighted material.
- Use a computer running OBS, a stable internet connection with enough upload capacity, and a playback setup that can send the episode’s video and audio to OBS.

Schedule the YouTube Live event
- Open YouTube Studio and select Create > Go Live > Manage.
- Select Schedule stream. Create a new event or select Reuse settings if an existing stream’s settings are appropriate.
- Enter the episode title and description, choose visibility, add a thumbnail, and set the intended start time. Make the title clear that this is a rerun and identify the episode or original recording date where useful.
- Save the event and open it in Live Control Room. The scheduled event can appear as an upcoming watch page, where viewers may be able to select Notify me.
- Copy the event’s stream URL and stream key. In OBS, open Settings > Stream, select the appropriate YouTube service or custom server configuration, and enter the event’s URL and key as required by that configuration. Save the settings.
YouTube says scheduling lets you promote a stream; it is separate from starting the encoder and sending the episode. See Manage live stream settings for stream keys, reused settings, reminders, and resetting a compromised key.

Protect the stream key
Treat the key as a credential. YouTube describes stream keys as “like your YouTube stream’s password and address.” Do not show it on screen or share it publicly. If it is exposed, an owner or manager can reset it in Live Control Room; update OBS with the replacement key before the event.

Prepare OBS and the prerecorded episode
- Load the episode using the playback source or setup you normally use in OBS. Confirm the video is visible and that the episode audio reaches the stream mix; listen through the output path rather than relying only on an on-screen meter.
- Check the beginning and ending of the file, the intended aspect ratio, and that no desktop alerts, private windows, or unrelated audio will appear during playback.
- Set OBS’s output to a YouTube-supported codec, resolution, frame rate, and bitrate. For RTMP/RTMPS, YouTube lists H.264 video, AAC or MP3 audio, constant bitrate encoding, and a recommended two-second keyframe interval; do not exceed four seconds. Use YouTube’s current encoder settings, bitrate, and resolution guidance to choose values for your actual resolution and frame rate.
- Prefer RTMPS when available for encrypted ingest. Choose settings your connection can sustain rather than maximizing resolution: a clear, uninterrupted spoken-word program is more useful than a high-resolution stream that repeatedly buffers or drops.
- Test with the actual episode or media with similar motion and audio. Verify speech is intelligible, music is not clipping, and both the picture and sound reach the expected OBS output.
Start the stream at the scheduled time
- Prepare OBS and the playback source in advance. YouTube recommends setting up encoder streams ahead of time and starting the encoder at least 15 minutes before the event.
- Start streaming from OBS. In Live Control Room, wait for the preview and check the stream-health status before starting the public event.
- When the preview is correct and the event is ready, start the live event using the available Live Control Room control. Confirm the public watch page is live and the episode audio is playing.
- Monitor OBS and YouTube’s stream-health messages during the rerun. Keep the computer awake, OBS open, the playback source available, and the internet connection stable until the episode is finished.
- End the event from the encoder/Live Control Room workflow when playback is complete. Check the watch page and archive afterward; YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived.
The scheduled watch page does not establish a native recurring playback schedule in OBS. If you use a separate automation to trigger OBS or media playback, verify that it starts the correct file and encoder at the required time; do not assume scheduling the YouTube event triggers local playback automatically.
Choose settings for a Hindi podcast rerun
For spoken-word content, prioritize stable, intelligible audio and a reliable connection. Select a supported resolution and frame rate that match the source and your upload capacity; there is no single bitrate that fits every combination. YouTube recommends keeping 20% upload-bandwidth headroom, so do not plan to consume the full measured upload rate with the stream. Its streaming tips cover connection and encoder preparation.

- Keep the source audio and OBS output routing simple enough to test end to end.
- Use constant bitrate encoding and the recommended keyframe interval for RTMP/RTMPS.
- Run a test with the same audio processing and similar movement as the episode; a static test image alone will not reveal every playback or audio-routing problem.
- Keep a person available to respond to stream-health warnings or a playback interruption. A scheduled time is not a substitute for monitoring the running encoder.
Troubleshooting common failures
