You can schedule a YouTube Premiere from your phone by uploading the finished video in the YouTube app and choosing Set as Premiere on the visibility page. YouTube also documents a scheduling flow in YouTube Studio, but its help pages do not confirm that every control is available in the Studio mobile app on every device or account. If you do not see the Premiere option there, use the YouTube app upload flow or Studio in a browser.
Schedule a Premiere from your phone
A Premiere is a scheduled group viewing of an uploaded video. You do not broadcast it live from your camera or encoder: YouTube plays the uploaded video at the scheduled time, while viewers can watch together and chat.

- Prepare the video. Use a finished upload, not a YouTube Short. YouTube’s Premiere instructions also exclude 360/VR180 videos and videos with output above 1080p. See YouTube Help: Premiere a new video.
- Start an upload in the YouTube app. Select the video on your phone and begin the upload flow. YouTube explicitly says you can create a Premiere while uploading from the YouTube app: Premiere a new video.
- Set the release. On the Set visibility page, choose Set as Premiere. To release it later, follow the scheduling prompts to select a date and time. The exact prompts can vary with the current app interface.
- Choose optional Premiere details. If Set up Premiere appears, you can select a countdown theme and length. These are optional; the video can be scheduled without customizing them.
- Finish and share. Tap Done or Schedule, as shown in your flow. Open the scheduled video’s public watch page and share its URL so viewers can find it and set reminders.
Can you do it in the YouTube Studio mobile app?
YouTube’s Studio scheduling instructions describe choosing Schedule, entering the date and time, and checking Set as Premiere. However, YouTube’s Studio app guidance covers channel management and does not establish that Premiere creation controls are identical to Studio on the web across all accounts, app versions, and devices. The general Premiere instructions also appear in YouTube’s India-localized help content; localization is not evidence that every Studio app interface exposes the same control.

If you cannot find Set as Premiere in the Studio app, that alone does not show the feature is unavailable in India or that the app is broken. Use the YouTube app upload route above, or open YouTube Studio in a browser and follow the documented scheduling flow. What viewers see before and during the Premiere
Scheduling creates a public watch page before the video starts. Share that page rather than waiting until release: viewers can set a reminder, comment, and chat there. YouTube says reminder notifications are sent about 30 minutes before the Premiere and again when it begins. See YouTube Help: Premiere a new video.
During the event, viewers watch the same point in the video at the same time. They can rewind, but cannot skip ahead beyond the portion currently being shown live. After the Premiere, the video remains available as a regular upload, and chat replay is available.

Timing, trailers, and eligibility
- Schedule ahead: YouTube recommends setting the Premiere at least 24 hours in advance so viewers around the world have an opportunity to see its thumbnail in their subscriptions feed. This is a recommendation, not a minimum technical requirement. Source: YouTube Help: Create a Premiere.
- Trailer: A trailer is optional. YouTube’s stated eligibility requires more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes; the trailer must be 15 seconds to 3 minutes long. Source: Create a Premiere.
- Monetization and member features: Eligible channels can enable pre-roll ads during a Premiere. Eligible viewers may use Super Chat or Super Stickers, and memberships may provide member-only chat. Availability depends on eligibility; these are not guaranteed for every channel. Source: Create a Premiere.
- Community Guidelines penalties: An active strike penalty may prevent a scheduled Premiere from publishing. YouTube says it may be set to private and need to be rescheduled after the freeze period. Check the channel’s status and YouTube’s current guidance if a scheduled event does not publish. Source: Premiere a new video.
Troubleshooting a missing or failed Premiere
“Set as Premiere” is missing in Studio mobile
Use the YouTube app’s upload flow and check its Set visibility page. Alternatively, use Studio in a browser. YouTube’s documentation supports these routes but does not establish full feature parity in the Studio mobile app.
The video cannot be set as a Premiere
Confirm that it is not a Short, a 360/VR180 video, or output above 1080p; YouTube lists those as unsupported for Premieres. If the scheduled event is blocked or becomes private, check whether the channel has an active Community Guidelines strike penalty.

A Premiere is for a finished upload played at a scheduled time; it is not a 24/7 live stream. If what you need instead is an always-on YouTube channel playing uploaded videos, StreamNeo runs the loop in the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it streams the upload at its original quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream.
