Schedule each broadcast in YouTube Studio, then add its watch-page link to a Google Calendar event for your production team. Calendar helps coordinate the time and share the link; it does not schedule or start the YouTube broadcast. YouTube playlists are for organizing videos such as livestream archives and highlight clips, not for scheduling a playlist as one broadcast.
What “schedule a livestream playlist” means
There are three separate jobs here: schedule an individual livestream in YouTube Studio, use Google Calendar to coordinate the event, and optionally organize the finished archive or highlights in a YouTube playlist. YouTube’s documented workflow supports scheduling a stream; its playlist guidance covers organizing livestream archives and clips afterward. It does not describe scheduling a playlist to broadcast as a single event.

Schedule the livestream in YouTube Studio
- Open YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live, then open Manage in Live Control Room.
- Choose the option to schedule a stream. Set the title, description, date and time, and other available stream details. Choose whether to reuse stream settings if that suits your setup, then save the scheduled stream.
- Copy the scheduled stream’s watch-page URL. Scheduling creates a page you can share and promote; viewers may be able to select Notify me on the upcoming stream.
YouTube’s exact labels may change. Follow its linked setup instructions if the controls look different. You can use either YouTube’s webcam route or an encoder route: webcam streaming involves selecting a webcam and microphone, while encoder streaming uses a stream URL and key. A webcam is not required for the encoder route.
Add the stream to Google Calendar
- Create a Calendar event for the agreed broadcast start time.
- Put the YouTube watch URL in the event description or location field so collaborators can open it easily.
- Invite the production team and set reminders that fit your preparation schedule.
This is a practical coordination use of Calendar, not a YouTube scheduling integration. Google’s documented conferencing controls add Google Meet or another supported conferencing option; they do not create or schedule a YouTube broadcast. Adding the YouTube link to a Calendar event also does not notify your channel’s audience. For viewers, share the scheduled stream URL separately and use YouTube’s own notification option.

Promote the stream and go live at airtime
YouTube recommends sharing the livestream link at least 48 hours before going live. Viewers who visit the upcoming stream page can choose Notify me, if that option is available to them.
At the scheduled time, open the stream in Live Control Room and start the broadcast using your chosen route. For webcam streaming, select the webcam and microphone in YouTube’s webcam workflow. For encoder streaming, configure the encoder with the stream URL and key, then start the encoder to send the stream. The Calendar event does not start the broadcast automatically.

Organize the recording afterward
After the livestream, add its archive and any highlight clips to a YouTube playlist if you want viewers or collaborators to find related videos together. This is a way to organize published videos, not a way to schedule the next livestream.

YouTube’s Live Redirect feature can send viewers after a stream to a Premiere or another livestream. Redirecting to a different channel requires that channel’s permission, and the feature has eligibility requirements. It is separate from Calendar scheduling and is not necessary for the workflow above. See YouTube’s Live Redirect guidance for current conditions.
