Schedule the event in YouTube Studio, check the time shown in Live Control Room, and publish the event link with an explicit timezone. YouTube’s current Live scheduling instructions do not establish whether the time field uses your local timezone or provide a timezone selector, so verify the displayed time before promoting the tour.
Schedule the YouTube Live event and verify its time
- In YouTube Studio, select Create > Go Live, then open Manage > Schedule stream in Live Control Room. Choose to reuse settings or create a new stream, enter the event details and visibility, and save. YouTube’s scheduled-event page can be shared so viewers can open it and select “Notify me.” YouTube Help: Schedule a live stream
- Choose an anchor time that works for the host and the property’s main audience. Convert that date and time for other regions, accounting for seasonal clock changes. Put the intended timezone beside every time you publish—for example, “10:00 a.m. Eastern Time / 2:00 p.m. UTC,” after checking the conversion for the actual date.
- Before sending invitations, confirm how the event time appears in the current Live Control Room. The official Live scheduling instructions do not document the time field’s timezone basis. Do not assume the scheduled-video workflow applies: YouTube’s separate scheduled-upload instructions explicitly include a timezone and describe Pacific Standard Time for a public video’s watch-page publication date, but those details concern scheduled videos, not scheduled Live events. The Live API uses an ISO 8601 datetime for
snippet.scheduledStartTime; that describes the API format, not Studio’s time-entry behavior. YouTube Live scheduling · Scheduled video publishing · YouTube Live API - Use the scheduled event’s watch-page URL as the single canonical link in your property listing, email, and social posts. Viewers can visit it ahead of time and opt into a reminder.
There is no universal best hour established for property tours. Pick the host’s workable time and the audience you most want to reach, then make the timezone unambiguous for everyone else.

Prepare the property walkthrough
Plan the route and narration
Decide the room order, the features to point out, and where to pause for questions. A simple route plan helps avoid long dead spots while the camera moves between rooms. YouTube’s filming guidance recommends planning content to limit unwanted pauses. YouTube filming tips
Choose a streaming method
- Mobile: Useful for a quick, mobile walkthrough with a phone. YouTube describes mobile streaming as suited to vlogging and quick updates.
- Webcam: A computer-based option when the tour is less mobile or the camera is positioned in one place.
- Encoder: Better suited to production hardware and a more controlled setup, such as additional inputs or overlays. YouTube recommends professional-grade encoders for higher-production-value events. YouTube streaming options
For a room-by-room tour, the camera needs to move easily and capture a useful wide view. If you plan to use YouTube’s dual-format streaming for vertical and horizontal viewers, Live Control Room currently offers a center-cropped vertical stream by default, with options such as fit-to-phone-width or stacked. Check the vertical crop before the event: the vertical layout cannot be added after the stream has started. A wide horizontal view may show a room more clearly than a tight phone crop. Keep video steady and narration clear
A smartphone tripod, selfie stick, or similar mount can reduce shake as you walk. An external microphone can improve speech clarity. Both are optional; use equipment you already have if it gives you a steady picture and intelligible narration. YouTube filming tips · YouTube streaming options
Test, start, and end the stream
- Run a private rehearsal. Schedule or test an unlisted stream and check camera framing, sound, lighting, internet connection, and movement through the property. YouTube recommends using an unlisted stream to test audio, video, and equipment. YouTube filming tips
- Set up early. YouTube recommends setting up an encoder at least two hours before the event and starting the encoder at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start. These are YouTube’s recommendations for encoder-based events, not a requirement that every host use an encoder. YouTube encoder setup
- Check the preview before going live. Connect the encoder, wait for the preview in Live Control Room, and verify the picture and audio. When ready, click Go live there. Monitor the feed as you move through the house.
- Close the event cleanly. End the stream in Live Control Room and stop sending from the encoder. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. YouTube encoder setup · YouTube Live scheduling
Troubleshoot common scheduling and tour problems
- The event time is unclear or appears unexpected: Recheck the time shown in Live Control Room, confirm the date-specific conversion for each audience, and include the timezone in all event copy. Do not rely on scheduled-video timezone instructions to infer Live behavior.
- Viewers cannot find the event: Confirm the event is saved with the intended visibility, then share its scheduled watch-page URL rather than a channel page or an encoder address.
- The scheduled stream has no preview: Confirm the encoder is connected to the intended event and is sending a signal; wait for Live Control Room to show the preview before selecting Go live.
- Audio or picture is poor during the rehearsal: Check microphone placement, lighting, framing, and the network connection; rehearse movement along the actual route. YouTube recommends an unlisted test before the public stream.
- The vertical view cuts off important details: Review the dual-format crop and layout before going live. The vertical layout cannot be added after the stream has started.
Or let it run in the cloud
A property tour is a live, moving camera walkthrough; StreamNeo is not a substitute for that kind of camera broadcast. It keeps a YouTube channel live by looping uploaded videos from the cloud, so it is relevant if you also want a prerecorded property walkthrough or other uploaded video running as a continuous stream—not for hosting the live tour itself.
To use it, upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Your computer can be off while the cloud keeps the stream running. Every slot supports the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo streams to YouTube only. See StreamNeo, or start the free first day.
