A YouTube playlist by itself does not schedule or send a live broadcast. Confirm the local observance time for your audience, because festival dates and timings can vary by region and tradition.
Schedule a YouTube livestream for a festival
- In YouTube Studio, go to Create > Go Live > Manage > Schedule stream.
- Choose to create a new stream or reuse settings from an earlier event. Reuse can copy metadata, settings, and the stream key, so review the copied details before proceeding.
- Enter the festival-specific title, description, date, time, and privacy setting. Make the event’s theme and date clear, for example, “Diwali Bhajans Live | [year]” or “Navratri Day [n] Bhajans Live | [year].” These are naming suggestions, not required YouTube formats.
- Review the remaining event details, including thumbnail and stream connection, then save or schedule the event.
- Copy and share the scheduled event’s watch-page URL so viewers can visit it in advance and choose Notify me.
YouTube says scheduled streams may appear as upcoming in subscriber feeds. Its Help page explains that scheduling lets creators promote a stream: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.

Can you schedule a playlist to play as a livestream?
Scheduling in YouTube Studio creates the live event and its watch page; it does not, by itself, turn a YouTube playlist into a live feed. For an encoder-based broadcast, YouTube provides a server URL and stream key that you enter in the encoder, which sends the program to the scheduled event. Preparing and sending a continuous playlist is a separate part of the setup, not a native “schedule this playlist as a livestream” command documented in YouTube’s guidance.
YouTube supports mobile, webcam, and encoder streaming. An encoder may be software or a hardware device; YouTube’s instructions do not require a particular vendor. For a prepared, continuous bhajan program, use a streaming setup that can supply that program, then connect it to the scheduled event using YouTube’s encoder instructions: Set up your encoder for live streaming.

Plan separate events for different festivals
Choose the dates and local times
Decide which festival editions or sessions you will broadcast, then verify each date and observance time for the audience you serve. Do not assume one date or start time applies throughout India: regional calendars, traditions, and local time can affect what viewers expect. The festival name alone is not enough to establish a date.
Make each event easy to identify
Create a separate scheduled event for each broadcast. Use a consistent naming pattern while making the festival, day or session, year, and date clear. If you reuse an earlier event, check its date, time, privacy, description, thumbnail, and stream connection rather than assuming the copied settings still fit.

Share the watch page and keep the schedule sustainable
Share each event URL early through the channels your audience uses, and tell viewers promptly if the schedule changes. YouTube recommends a consistent, sustainable schedule and advises creators to decide whether livestream archives should remain public. See Upload schedule tips – Live.

- Assemble the audio and visual program you intend to broadcast in your encoder or streaming setup.
- In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, get the stream URL and stream key for the scheduled event, then enter them in the encoder as directed by YouTube.
- Treat the stream key like a password: do not publish it or share it with people who should not control the broadcast.
- Before the event, check that the scheduled event details and the encoder’s connection refer to the intended festival broadcast.
Check eligibility and rights before going live
Channel access
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have livestreaming restrictions in the previous 90 days to livestream. The creator must be at least 16 years old. Review Get started with live streaming for current platform requirements.

Music and visual permissions
YouTube requires livestream content to follow its Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Confirm you have the necessary rights for every recording and visual in the program; the fact that a bhajan is devotional or traditional does not establish that a particular recording is free to use. YouTube’s guidance on live streams and policies is available in Get started with live streaming.
Optional trailers and transitions
A trailer is optional. YouTube’s current Live Control Room guidance says the feature requires more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes; a trailer must be 15 seconds to 3 minutes. Live Redirect can send viewers to a Premiere or another live stream, but sending a redirect also requires more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. Redirecting viewers to another channel requires that channel’s permission. See Use Live Redirect.

Troubleshoot common scheduling problems
- The event exists, but no bhajans are playing: The scheduled watch page and the outgoing program are separate. Check that an encoder or streaming setup is sending the prepared program to the event.
- The event shows the wrong date or details: Recheck the date, time, privacy, description, and thumbnail. If you reused settings, correct any festival-specific information carried over from the earlier event.
- The stream does not connect: Confirm that the encoder has the correct YouTube server URL and stream key for the intended event. If you reused a stream key, verify that the encoder and scheduled event are using the same connection details.
- Viewers cannot find the upcoming broadcast: Share the scheduled event’s watch-page URL directly and verify the event’s privacy setting.
- You cannot start a livestream: Check channel verification, livestream restrictions, and the creator age requirement against YouTube’s current eligibility guidance.
- Music or visuals may trigger a rights problem: Review permissions for each recording and visual before broadcasting; do not assume a devotional song recording is cleared for use.
