The video stays private until its scheduled publication. For an on-demand release, use a regular scheduled upload; choose a Premiere if you want a shared viewing event with a public page, reminders and live chat.
Schedule a recorded sermon in YouTube Studio
- Sign in to YouTube Studio.
- Select Create → Upload videos, then select the recorded sermon file.
- Enter the video details, such as its title, description and audience setting. Complete any other details Studio requests for the upload.
- Open the Schedule card. Choose the intended Indian local date and time, and check the time zone displayed in the interface before proceeding. YouTube lets you choose a date, time and time zone when scheduling. YouTube’s scheduling instructions explain the workflow.
- Select Schedule. The video remains private until the scheduled publication.
- Return to Studio’s Content list and check that the sermon appears as scheduled with the intended date and time.
Make the date and time clear for viewers in India
Use the Indian local date and time shown in Studio when you schedule, and verify the time zone in the interface. YouTube notes that the date beneath a public watch-page video is based on Pacific Standard Time (PST), so that displayed date can differ from the date in Studio when the scheduled time is ahead of PST. A different public-page date alone does not show that you scheduled the sermon incorrectly. In church announcements, state the Indian local date and time explicitly, rather than relying on the date viewers may later see beneath the video. For the authoritative scheduled time, check the item in Studio.
Choose a regular scheduled upload or a Premiere

To schedule a Premiere, enable Set as Premiere while scheduling the upload. YouTube recommends scheduling a Premiere at least 24 hours ahead so the thumbnail has an opportunity to appear in subscribers’ feeds. That is platform guidance, not a guarantee of attendance or viewership. YouTube’s Premiere tips provide the recommendation.

Pick a sustainable publishing time
There is no established universal best hour for Indian congregations in YouTube’s guidance. Choose a time that suits the congregation’s routines, then use the channel’s own audience information to refine it where available. YouTube recommends a consistent, sustainable schedule and advises creators to consider frequency, consistency, content volume, production time and notable dates. Its guidance says: “A consistent, sustainable release schedule is critical when building and fulfilling audience expectations and maintaining your well-being.” YouTube’s upload schedule tips offer the broader planning advice.
Check processing and account restrictions
Scheduling does not override YouTube’s publishing conditions. YouTube says a video can publish once SD processing is complete, so avoid promising an exact public availability time until processing status is checked. A Community Guidelines strike penalty period can also block publication: the scheduled video remains private during the freeze and must be rescheduled after the penalty period ends. Check Studio’s Content list and the account’s notifications if the sermon does not go public as expected. Scheduling help and YouTube’s Community Guidelines strike guidance describe these exceptions.
