StreamYard’s documented prerecorded-streaming workflow schedules one selected video to air automatically on YouTube; it does not document scheduling a YouTube playlist as a sequence of videos. To schedule a finished video, create a prerecorded broadcast, choose the video and YouTube destination, set its date and time, and create the broadcast. If you need several videos to play one after another, the documented workflow does not establish that capability.
Can you schedule a YouTube playlist with StreamYard?
Not through the playlist-sequencing controls described in StreamYard’s Help Center article “Pre-recorded Streaming.” That workflow has you select a single video file or an existing StreamYard recording for a scheduled broadcast. It does not show a way to select a YouTube playlist and have its videos play in sequence.

This distinction matters if you want several recordings to air back-to-back: the documented feature is for scheduling a finished video, not for programming a playlist. StreamYard’s help instructions describe the scheduled prerecorded broadcast as starting automatically at its selected time and ending when that video finishes.

Schedule one prerecorded video to air on YouTube
- Prepare the video. Use a video recorded in StreamYard or one made with another recording tool. The Help Center specifies .mp4 files with H.264 video encoding, a bitrate up to 10 Mbps, and, on paid plans, resolution up to 1080p. These are StreamYard product specifications and may change; check the current “Pre-recorded Streaming” help article if your file is near a limit.
- Open the prerecorded-streaming workflow. From the StreamYard home page, select Create, then Live Stream, then Pre-recorded video.
- Choose the source video. Upload a file or select a previous StreamYard broadcast or recording. This is where you select the individual video, not a YouTube playlist.
- Set the destination and broadcast details. Select YouTube, choose the broadcast date and time, and enter a title and description.
- Choose whether to schedule an announcement. If you want a shareable YouTube link in advance, schedule an announcement post. StreamYard says the link is created at the announcement time. Without an announcement, the link appears when the stream goes live.
- Create the broadcast. The prerecorded broadcast is scheduled to start at the selected time and end when the video finishes, according to StreamYard’s help instructions.
What happens to the link, schedule and video?
Link timing
An announcement makes the YouTube link available at the scheduled announcement time. If you do not schedule one, StreamYard says the link appears when the stream goes live. Choose an earlier announcement time when viewers need the link before the broadcast begins.

Scheduling limits listed by StreamYard
The “Pre-recorded Streaming” Help Center article lists these plan specifications. Plan names and limits can change, so confirm them in StreamYard’s current documentation before relying on them:

Library, comments and archive
StreamYard says prerecorded streams are no longer automatically saved to its library. That statement concerns StreamYard’s library; it does not establish whether YouTube separately archives a broadcast. The help article also says comments can be viewed on the destination platform, but are not shown on-stream through the prerecorded studio workflow.

Prerecorded broadcast versus an ordinary scheduled live stream

Do not assume that creating an ordinary scheduled live post makes the show start by itself. StreamYard’s “Schedule a YouTube Live Stream” instructions describe a scheduled post; the automatic start behavior applies to the prerecorded-video workflow.

Troubleshoot common problems
- You cannot find the YouTube event: In StreamYard, open the broadcast’s three-dot menu and select View on YouTube. You can also look for upcoming streams under your channel’s Live tab.
- The upload or playback has a problem: Check that the file meets StreamYard’s stated format and encoding specifications. Its help article suggests re-encoding with HandBrake as an optional troubleshooting step; it is not required for every upload.
- You expected multiple videos to play in order: The documented prerecorded workflow selects one video. It does not show a playlist-sequencing option, so do not treat a YouTube playlist as a supported input for this process.
- You expected a comment overlay: StreamYard’s help article says comments can be viewed on YouTube but are not shown on-stream through this prerecorded workflow.
- You expected the video in your StreamYard library afterward: StreamYard says prerecorded streams are no longer automatically saved there. That does not answer whether YouTube keeps its own archive.
