To schedule a YouTube study-music livestream, open YouTube Studio, select Create > Go Live > Manage > Schedule stream, set up the event, and connect an encoder at the scheduled time. For Indian viewers, write the start time explicitly in India-local time and check the timezone shown in your current Studio scheduling screen before saving: YouTube’s livestream guidance does not establish which timezone that screen uses or whether it offers a timezone selector.
What “schedule a 24/7 playlist” means on YouTube
Scheduling an encoder-based livestream creates an upcoming event and watch page; it does not itself start playback at the scheduled time. At that time, your encoder must send the video to YouTube, and you must confirm the preview in Live Control Room and select Go live. Viewers can visit the upcoming watch page and opt into a start notification. YouTube’s encoder livestream instructions describe this flow.

Separate three goals before you build the setup: keeping a live feed available, providing a complete replay, and telling viewers when a scheduled broadcast begins. A single scheduled event does not automatically guarantee all three.

Check channel eligibility and music permissions
Confirm livestream access
YouTube’s current getting-started guidance says the channel must be verified, must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days, and the streamer must be at least 16. Check eligibility before preparing an always-on broadcast. YouTube’s live-streaming getting-started guidance has the current requirements.

Clear both live and replay rights
Make sure your permissions cover public livestream transmission and any archive or video-on-demand use. A license for personal listening does not, by itself, establish permission to rebroadcast music publicly. YouTube’s copyright guidance distinguishes live performance rights from archive rights; verify the terms for every track and recording you plan to use.
Schedule the event in YouTube Studio
- Open Live Control Room: in YouTube Studio, select Create > Go Live, then open Manage and choose Schedule stream. You can reuse previous stream settings or create a new stream.
- Enter the event details: add the title and other metadata, choose visibility, and set the date and time. The livestream scheduling instructions do not establish the timezone behavior of the current interface. Before saving, inspect the timezone actually displayed in Studio; do not assume a scheduled-video timezone control applies to a livestream. YouTube’s separate scheduled video instructions cover videos, not proof of livestream scheduler behavior.
- Communicate the India time clearly: when sharing the watch page, include the date and start time in India-local time (IST, UTC+5:30), rather than relying on viewers to infer it from a displayed time. Check the event details in Studio against that stated time before sharing.
- Protect and configure the stream key: copy YouTube’s stream URL and key into your encoder. Treat the key like a password: keep it out of screenshots, public documents, and chat. YouTube supports reusable custom stream keys; use a key you can identify and manage securely.
- Start the broadcast: at the scheduled time, start sending from the encoder. Wait for the preview in Live Control Room, check that the correct video and audio are coming through, then select Go live.
- Share the upcoming page: send viewers the event’s watch-page URL and tell them the India-local start time. YouTube recommends a consistent, sustainable schedule and communicating schedule changes to fans.
Plan for a long-running feed and its replay
YouTube says it can automatically archive livestreams shorter than 12 hours. Its archive guidance warns: “If your stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all.” This is an archive warning, not a statement that YouTube automatically stops every broadcast at 12 hours. If a complete replay matters, make a separate local recording and decide how you will publish or segment it. YouTube itself recommends keeping a local archive as a backup. A continuous live presence and a dependable replay are different operational needs; do not rely on a single 24-hour YouTube event as your only copy.

For a do-it-yourself encoder setup, the computer running the encoder and its internet connection need to remain available for the broadcast. Plan who will monitor it and how you will respond if the connection or YouTube feed drops. The official setup flow requires starting the encoder and confirming the preview; the cited guidance does not specify a preferred restart cadence for a 24/7 broadcast.

Common problems and practical fixes
- The event is scheduled, but viewers do not see a live broadcast: scheduling creates the upcoming event; it does not send video by itself. Start the encoder at the event time, wait for the Live Control Room preview, and select Go live.
- The advertised start time appears inconsistent: compare the date and timezone shown in the current livestream scheduler with the India-local time you plan to publish. The official livestream instructions do not settle the scheduler’s timezone behavior, so verify it in the live interface rather than borrowing assumptions from scheduled videos.
- The encoder does not connect: recheck that the stream URL and key are copied into the encoder correctly and that the key has not been exposed or changed. Keep the key private.
- The replay is missing or incomplete: a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured. Keep a local recording if a complete copy is important, and plan how to divide or publish the recording.
- Music is blocked or a replay raises a rights issue: verify that your permissions cover both live transmission and archive/on-demand use for each recording. Do not assume permission for one use includes the other.
