YouTube Studio can schedule the live event, but it does not schedule a bhajan playlist to switch during that live stream. To change from your regular bhajan rotation to morning aarti, schedule the event in YouTube Studio and configure the handoff in the separate playback or playout system that feeds your encoder. Set the change for the temple’s actual aarti time in India Standard Time (IST), then rehearse it and check the incoming feed in YouTube Live Control Room.
What you need to schedule—and what you cannot schedule in Studio
Think of this as two separate schedules:
- The YouTube event: YouTube Studio lets you schedule a live event and share its watch page ahead of time.
- The program playing into the event: Your encoder sends the live feed to YouTube. The bhajan-to-aarti switch must be arranged in the playback or automation system supplying that feed.
YouTube’s documented event-scheduling workflow does not describe an automatic playlist handoff within a live event. A regular YouTube playlist is not itself a 24/7 livestream. For an encoder-based broadcast, choose a playback system that can run the intended rotation and switch to the aarti content at the specified time.

There is no single morning-aarti hour for all of India. Use the time your temple follows; configure the playout schedule in IST and confirm that the system handles its time zone and recurring schedule as intended.

Check channel eligibility
YouTube says livestreaming requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days. Check eligibility before building the schedule; if the channel cannot livestream, an encoder setup will not resolve that restriction. YouTube’s live-streaming tips cover eligibility and preparation.

Prepare the recordings and permissions
Confirm that you have permission to stream each bhajan recording, performance, and other included audio or video. A devotional subject does not by itself establish that a recording is free to use. Check the rights for the specific recording and any applicable licenses or permissions before putting it in a continuous public stream.
Organize the normal bhajan rotation and the morning-aarti material in the playback system. Decide what should play immediately before and after the handoff, and what should happen if an item is missing or ends unexpectedly. The exact controls depend on the playout system you choose; YouTube’s event-scheduling instructions do not specify a playlist-automation product.

Schedule the live event and connect its feed
- Open YouTube Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, go to Live Control Room, select Manage, then Schedule stream. Scheduling gives you an event and watch-page URL to share with viewers. See YouTube’s encoder setup guide for its documented workflow and available options.
- Choose an encoder. YouTube supports software encoders and standalone hardware encoders. Choose one compatible with your playback workflow and able to stay running for the planned broadcast. Neither category is established by YouTube as the best choice for this use case.
- Connect the encoder. Enter the stream URL and stream key shown for the scheduled stream into the encoder. Treat the stream key as a secret: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not be able to send a feed to your channel.
- Configure the playlist handoff outside Studio. In the playback or automation layer feeding the encoder, schedule the transition from the normal bhajan rotation to the morning-aarti playlist at the temple’s chosen IST time. Confirm whether the schedule repeats on the days you intend and how it behaves after a restart or interruption.
- Start early and inspect the preview. YouTube recommends setting up at least two hours before the event and starting the encoder at least 15 minutes before it. Wait for the preview in Live Control Room; check that audio and video are arriving as expected before selecting Go live for the scheduled-event flow. These are preparation recommendations, not a guarantee against outages.
- Verify the switch on the live feed. Rehearse the transition before relying on it. During the broadcast, check the feed at the handoff time in Live Control Room and confirm that the aarti content—not just a playlist or event label—has actually reached viewers.
Choose a delivery setup that can run continuously
The encoder sends the feed; the playback or automation layer determines what is playing. For a 24/7 schedule, assess the whole chain rather than choosing an encoder alone.

Software and hardware encoders are both recognized by YouTube; a dedicated hardware encoder is not a requirement. In either setup, the playlist switch still belongs in the playback or automation layer that supplies the feed.

Keep a 24/7 broadcast and its archive in perspective
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That guidance does not establish what archive behavior to expect for a stream that continues beyond 12 hours. For a 24/7 channel, arrange a separate recording or archive capability if you need a complete copy, and verify the platform’s behavior rather than assuming the entire continuous run will be archived automatically. YouTube’s encoder guide describes the under-12-hour archive statement.
Keep an eye on the live preview and the actual playlist transition. YouTube advises monitoring stream quality, but its setup recommendations do not guarantee uninterrupted service. A continuous schedule also needs a plan for encoder or playback interruptions and a way to confirm that the feed has resumed correctly.

Scheduled video publishing is a different feature
YouTube’s scheduled video publishing feature makes an uploaded private video public at a chosen time and time zone. It does not schedule a playlist change inside an encoder-fed live stream. Use Live Control Room to schedule the live event; use the playout system to time the content handoff.
