For a featured character, budget for as many as 180 Character Event Warp wishes from a fresh pity counter with no featured guarantee. One five-star is guaranteed within 90 wishes, but the first five-star has a 50% chance to be the featured character; if it is not, the next five-star is guaranteed featured. Existing Character Event Warp pity and an active featured guarantee can reduce what you still need to save.
How many wishes should you save for a featured character?
HoYoverse’s Help Center, updated September 17, 2025, says a five-star character is guaranteed within 90 wishes on a Character Event Warp. That five-star has a 50% chance to be the featured promotional character. If it is not, the next five-star is guaranteed to be featured. Read the official Character Event Warp guarantee rules.

From a fresh counter with no featured guarantee, the conservative ceiling is 180 wishes: up to 90 for the first five-star, then up to 90 more for the guaranteed featured character. This is a worst-case planning cap derived from the rules, not an average cost or prediction of your luck.

- Check your Character Event Warp history or details in the game and record how many wishes you have made since your last five-star. This is your account-specific pity; the Help Center’s general rules cannot tell you your current count.
- Check whether your next five-star is guaranteed to be the featured character. If your previous five-star on a Character Event Warp was not featured, that guarantee applies to the next five-star.
- Estimate the remaining wishes. If the featured character is already guaranteed, allow up to 90 wishes minus your current pity. If it is not guaranteed, the conservative maximum is up to 180 wishes minus your current pity.
- Subtract Star Rail Special Passes you already hold, then use the current in-game exchange display to work out how many more passes your Stellar Jades can buy. Verify the conversion in the client rather than relying on an assumed Jade total.
For example, if you have 30 Character Event Warp pity and no featured guarantee, the conservative maximum is 150 more wishes: 180 minus 30. If your next five-star is already guaranteed featured, the maximum is 60 more wishes: 90 minus 30. These calculations use only valid Character Event Warp pity.

Does Character Event Warp pity carry over?
Yes. The two Character Event Warp banners share pity and featured-guarantee status, so progress carries into later Character Event Warps. HoYoverse’s Help Center confirms the shared counters; an official Version 3.3 notice also states that cumulative count carries between Character Event Warps and is independent of other Warp types. Check the live in-game Warp details for current rules.
This means you can make wishes on one Character Event Warp and keep the resulting pity toward a later character banner. It does not mean pity carries between character and Light Cone banners.
Why Light Cone pity should not be part of a character budget
Light Cone Event Warp has an independent pity and guarantee counter. HoYoverse’s Help Center, updated September 23, 2025, states that a five-star Light Cone is guaranteed within 80 Warps and that this counter is separate from Character Event Warp pity. The 80-Warp ceiling applies to the Light Cone banner, not a character. See HoYoverse’s Light Cone Event Warp guarantee rules.
If your priority is the featured character, keep your character savings separate and avoid spending those resources on a Light Cone banner. Wishes spent there will not build your Character Event Warp pity.

There is no single reliable current Jade total for every account: earnings depend on progression, which activities you have completed, and which events are available before your target banner. Build your estimate from rewards you can actually claim rather than assuming a universal monthly or per-patch amount.
Check recurring activities
HoYoverse’s Version 4.2 update notice says that, after the update on April 22, 2026, Currency Wars and Simulated Universe point rewards were merged into a weekly cycle. It refreshes Monday at 04:00 server time and includes Stellar Jades and Star Rail Passes. The notice says rewards match the original point-reward system, but does not establish a text-readable current Jade total to use here. Check the Version 4.2 update notice and the current in-game mode screens for available rewards.
The same update notice says Apocalyptic Shadow, Pure Fiction, and Forgotten Hall: Memory of Chaos refresh alternately. Check their current cycles and the rewards still claimable on your account; do not treat an old event notice as a current reward schedule.

Separate one-time and time-limited rewards
- Unclaimed progression rewards: Check the content and milestones your account has not completed. These are one-time sources, not a recurring income rate.
- Live limited events: Count rewards only while the event is available and your account can still claim them. The Version 4.2 notice, for example, recorded a 1,600-Jade anniversary gift tied to an April–June 2026 claim window; that window has ended, so it is a historical example, not a current saving source. See the dated Version 4.2 notice.
- Returner rewards: Starlit Homecoming has eligibility conditions. Check the current in-game event page before including its rewards in your plan. The Version 4.2 update notice describes its returner-specific details.
- Paid reward tracks: Nameless Glory and Nameless Medal are optional paid tracks, not free-to-play rewards. Version 4.2 reward details are historical and should not be assumed to match a current version. Check the Version 4.2 Nameless Honor notice.
Make a plan around the banner you want
- Choose the target and window. Verify the banner and its dates in the current in-game Warp notice. Version-specific announcements, such as the Version 4.4 notice, describe only that version’s banners and are not a current schedule. Use official notices as version-specific information.
- Write down your character-banner status. Record current pity, whether the featured character is guaranteed, your Star Rail Special Pass count, and your Stellar Jade balance.
- Set the cap, not an average. Use the calculation above to find the maximum remaining wishes needed. Do not assume the 180-wish ceiling is what you will spend, or that a smaller amount guarantees the character.
- Estimate claimable rewards. Review weekly cycles, endgame refreshes, unfinished progression, and currently active event notices. Exclude expired rewards and returner rewards unless you qualify.
- Recheck before spending. Confirm the target banner, your pity and guarantee, and the current exchange display in-game. Keep Light Cone wishes out of the character calculation.
