Save the portal’s official submission record first
- Finish the portal’s final submission flow. Look for a final status, acknowledgement, confirmation-page link or download option. A draft or preview may not mean the application was submitted. JEECUP’s 2026 help page says its confirmation-page link is enabled only after all required steps are complete. JEECUP admission help
- Download the generated record. Save the acknowledgement page, confirmation page or final application PDF from the portal. CEE Kerala’s KEAM 2026 instructions direct candidates to print the acknowledgement page after online submission; NITK says a PDF is generated on successful submission and advises applicants to preserve it. - Save payment evidence separately if required. Keep the receipt or transaction details specified by the institution. AKU, for example, advises applicants to retain payment details, the transaction/e-receipt number and date, the online form and acknowledgement number. AKU guidance
- Check the files before leaving the portal. Reopen each PDF or image and make sure it is complete and readable. Keep the original downloaded file rather than relying only on a screenshot.
Requirements vary by institution, programme and admission cycle. Check the current notice for your own application; a file being saved as a PDF does not by itself make it acceptable proof.

When a screenshot is not proof of submission
A screenshot records what appeared on your screen. The portal may instead require its own acknowledgement, submitted form or payment receipt. Jadavpur University’s cited engineering-admission instructions specify the acknowledgement document, a submitted-application form available on the dashboard after two days of payment, and the SBI Collect application-fee receipt as evidence of confirmed submission. They explicitly state: “No other document including screen shots of form and/or payment receipt will be accepted as proof of form submission.” This is a specific instruction for that process, not a nationwide rule. Other portals give different directions. KEAM 2026 asks candidates to keep a printout of the acknowledgement for future reference and separately says not to send that acknowledgement or supporting certificates to the office. NITK advises preserving its generated application PDF and describes bringing a printed application and supporting document copies for physical admission. Follow the instructions for your institution rather than assuming one university’s rules apply elsewhere.

Capture a supplementary screenshot or save a page as PDF
iPhone
On an iPhone with Face ID, quickly press and release the Side and Volume Up buttons together. On an iPhone with a Home button, quickly press and release the Side and Home buttons together. Screenshots are saved to Photos by default. For a long page in Safari, take a screenshot, select Full Page when available, then save the capture as a PDF to Files. Apple: take a screenshot on iPhone
Desktop Chrome

Android Chrome

For other devices or browsers, use their built-in screenshot or print-to-PDF feature and verify that the saved file opens. A screenshot or PDF can help you keep a personal record, but the portal’s rules determine what counts as proof.

If something goes wrong
- No confirmation link appears: check whether every required step is complete. JEECUP says its confirmation-page link becomes available only after all required steps are done.
- You have a draft or preview but no final record: return to the portal and complete its final submission flow; do not treat a preview as confirmation.
- The payment appears complete but the application status is unclear: retain the transaction details and receipt, then check the portal’s status and the current institution-specific instructions. Do not assume payment alone confirms form submission.
- The screenshot or PDF is missing or unreadable: take or save it again, reopen the new file and confirm its contents before signing out or losing access.
- You are unsure whether a screenshot is accepted: use the named portal-generated documents and consult the current notice for your course and admission year. Jadavpur’s cited instructions reject screenshots; that rule should not be generalized to other institutions.

Should I send my acknowledgement page to the university office?
