Rainbow Diamonds (RDs) are only a plan when you can reach the banner’s displayed guarantee—or you are consciously accepting the chance of missing it before the event ends. Because campaigns change, there is no permanent number of RDs that guarantees every character and no reliable promise that Scout Points will carry over.
What “saving for the right banner” really means
Saving is not merely keeping a large RD balance. It is reserving enough of your in-game currency for a specific target while refusing banners that do not meet your priorities. A banner is “right” only in relation to what you want: a particular character, a role your roster lacks, a ticket, or a step reward that has value to you.
Rainbow Diamonds and scout tickets are digital goods. The official ONE PIECE Bounty Rush site describes the game as free to play with paid items and random-item (loot-box) mechanics. Saving can reduce impulse spending, but it cannot turn an uncertain pull into a certainty unless the live campaign explicitly provides a guarantee and you complete its stated requirements.
- Pick a target first. If the featured character or role is not one you genuinely want, skip the banner regardless of its animation, headline or limited-time label.
- Read the live terms. Record the displayed rates, every step price, step rewards, tickets, guarantee wording and closing time.
- Budget to the guarantee shown in that campaign. Do not substitute a cost remembered from an older event.
- Treat Scout Points as temporary unless the Scout screen says otherwise. Official announcements warn that points reset after expiry.
- Check again immediately before spending. Offers, deadlines and rewards can change, and some unclaimed items expire.
Why banner terms cannot be generalized
ONE PIECE Bounty RUSH campaigns are event-specific. Official announcements have used different combinations of step-up scouts, scout tickets, free scouts, bonus rewards and guaranteed outcomes. The announcement archive also notes that some content can differ between mobile and Steam versions. A number quoted for one campaign therefore cannot be treated as a standing price for the next one.

Open the Scout menu in your own game rather than relying on a screenshot, a social-media post or a guide written for a previous anniversary. The live screen is the authority for your platform and region. For background on changing campaigns, consult the official announcement archive, then verify the current event in-game.
A step-by-step method for deciding whether to summon
1. Name the target and your acceptable fallback
Write down the exact featured character you would be happy to obtain. If several units appear, rank them instead of treating every featured unit as equal. Decide whether a ticket, fragments or a step reward would still make the banner worthwhile if the main character does not appear. This prevents the banner’s marketing language from making the decision for you.
2. Capture the banner’s terms before making a single pull
On the Scout screen, record the information in this table. Use the wording and numbers currently displayed, including any regional or platform qualification.

3. Calculate the complete guarantee budget
Add every RD payment required to reach the guarantee displayed for the banner, including a final step that costs more than the opening steps. If the event uses tickets, calculate the ticket requirement separately and note whether tickets come from steps, missions, the store or another stated source. Use a simple worksheet:
Guarantee budget = sum of all RD costs required to reach the displayed guaranteeRD shortfall = guarantee budget − current RD balanceTime remaining = banner expiry − the current time shown by the game
A negative shortfall means your present balance covers the displayed route; it does not mean you will receive the character before reaching that route. A positive shortfall means you must decide whether the game can supply the missing amount before expiry without assuming an unannounced reward or purchase.
4. Set a stop rule before the first summon
Choose one of two deliberate positions: save until you can complete the displayed guarantee, or spend a smaller amount while accepting that the target may not appear. Do not begin with an incomplete budget and decide after an unlucky sequence. The random-item format means early pulls can consume your reserve without improving your ability to finish the guarantee.

5. Check Scout Point expiry and reset language
Official notices warn that Scout Points reset after the expiry date and direct players to the Scout screen for the exact details. Consequently, do not assume points from this event will be available on a later banner. If the screen does not explicitly promise carryover, value the points only within the current event and plan to use them before the stated deadline.
6. Recheck the screen immediately before confirming
Campaign details are volatile. Re-open the banner, verify the end time, read the guarantee line again, and confirm that your RD and ticket totals are the ones you intend to use. This final check is especially important when an announcement and the in-game Scout screen show different dates or when you play on more than one platform.
How many Rainbow Diamonds do you need?
There is no universal answer supported by the official information. The required amount is the sum of the steps in the specific live banner, and some banners do not present the same guarantee structure. A guide that promises one permanent number would be misleading.
Use the banner’s own guarantee as the answer for that event. If no guarantee is displayed, treat the target as a chance outcome rather than budgeting as if a character is owed after a certain number of pulls. If a guarantee is displayed but you cannot reach it before expiry, waiting for a banner whose terms you can complete is the lower-risk choice.
Do not count unannounced daily income, a presumed monthly allowance or a future rerun. No stable general earning rate, guarantee price or return schedule has been established. Count only rewards the current game screen explicitly lists and that you can collect before the deadline.
How to compare two banners that are live at the same time
When more than one Scout is available, compare the campaigns side by side instead of asking which is objectively best. The right choice depends on your target and on what your balance can support.

If neither banner can be completed and neither target is a priority, saving is a valid result. You do not have to convert an available banner into a summon.
Managing a savings reserve without inventing an earning schedule
Keep a written balance and a protected reserve
Note your RD total and ticket total after each claim or summon. Mark a reserve for the target banner and treat it as unavailable for unrelated scouts. Separating “spendable now” from “reserved for the target” makes a flashy step-up less likely to consume the currency you calculated for a guarantee.
Track rewards by their expiry, not by assumption
Event missions, free scouts and other rewards may have their own collection windows. Check the event notice and the in-game gift box. The official store warns that some items delivered to the Gift Box can expire if they remain unclaimed, so claiming a reward is part of the saving plan rather than an optional cleanup task.
Use a calendar for deadlines
Write down the Scout closing time, any separate ticket expiry and the date on which Scout Points reset. Set a reminder before—not at—the deadline so you have time to open the game, inspect the screen and use a ticket or point exchange if you still intend to do so. Do not treat an announcement’s date as a substitute for the date shown in your client.

Review priorities when a new campaign appears
A new banner can change your target, but it should not erase your existing budget calculation. Compare the new event using the same table, then decide whether the new character is worth giving up the reserve. If the answer is unclear, keep saving until the terms or your priorities become clearer.

The Bandai Namco Entertainment Web Store sells Rainbow Diamonds and scout-specific tickets as digital goods. When a purchase is made, the store says the Diamonds are added to the in-game total after the player next opens the game to the Home screen. Some other items are sent to the Gift Box and may expire if they are not claimed.
The storefront displayed limited-time and monthly offers when it was accessed on October 13, 2026. Prices, quantities, deadlines, monthly limits and availability can vary by region and time, so those listings are not universal prices or a guaranteed way to complete a future banner. The store also presents digital-license terms and cancellation limitations; read the current terms before any optional purchase.

Buying currency is not required to follow a savings plan. If you choose to spend, treat the purchase as a separate decision and verify that the delivered amount appears after returning to the Home screen. Never count a pending delivery toward a guarantee until the game shows it in your balance.
Random pulls, spending limits and account safety
Because the game uses random-item mechanics, a sequence of misses is possible even when the displayed rate is correct. A higher number of pulls changes your number of chances; it does not make an individual pull certain unless the banner’s guarantee says so.
- Decide your maximum RD spend before opening the Scout screen.
- Do not chase a target by transferring currency reserved for another banner.
- Stop when the planned budget is exhausted, even if the next pull feels “due.”
- Keep purchases optional and within a limit you can afford; the game can be played without buying currency.
- Save screenshots or notes of the terms if you need to resolve a discrepancy, but rely on the live Scout screen for the current event.
If a summon crashes or the result is unclear
Do not immediately repeat the summon if the app closes, freezes or returns an error. First reopen the game and check your RD balance, scout history, tickets and Gift Box so you do not duplicate a transaction or overlook a delivered result. For the publisher’s official guidance on crashes during a summon, use the Bandai Namco support FAQ. Keep the event name, approximate time and platform available if the support form asks for them.
Platform, region and timing caveats
Announcements can describe a campaign generally while the exact Scout screen varies by platform or region. The official archive specifically cautions that some content differs between mobile and Steam. Check the client on which you will summon, including its displayed currency, ticket inventory and expiry time. A store offer seen in one country or account is not evidence that the same offer, price or limit exists elsewhere.

Dates in announcements are historical unless the campaign is still active. Do not plan around a banner return date, a permanent monthly RD income or a point-carryover promise unless the current official notice and Scout screen state it.
Final pre-summon checklist
- Target: I can name the character or role I want and have ranked any acceptable alternatives.
- Terms: I recorded the current rates, step prices, step rewards, tickets and guarantee wording.
- Budget: I calculated the full RD route to the displayed guarantee and compared it with my balance.
- Deadline: I know the Scout closing time and any separate ticket or Gift Box expiry.
- Scout Points: I know whether this event resets them and will not assume carryover.
- Opportunity cost: Spending now will not accidentally consume the reserve for a higher-priority target—or I have consciously accepted that trade-off.
- Risk: I have a stop rule and accept that non-guaranteed pulls can miss.
- Platform: I checked the exact Scout screen on the device and account where I will summon.
If any item is unanswered, keep the Diamonds. The banner will remain a better decision only after its live terms, your target and your budget agree.
