Make sure the image shows the price and the relevant product, seller, currency, or variant details. A screenshot records a visible page state; by itself, it does not establish that the image is unaltered, prove the price remained available at checkout, or guarantee legal acceptance.
What to include in a useful price record
A screenshot is more useful later when you can identify both what it shows and where and when you captured it. Save these items together:

- The original screenshot or PDF.
- The complete source URL, including product or variant identifiers and relevant query parameters.
- The capture date and time, with a timezone such as UTC or an explicit local offset.
- The product or variant, displayed price and currency, and seller when relevant.
- A brief note describing what is visible and how the capture was made.
This is practical recordkeeping, not a formal evidentiary standard. A visible timestamp or watermark reports what the tool says; the sources available here do not independently validate its clock, audit trail, or resistance to editing.

How to save a product price screenshot step by step
- Open the exact listing. Check that the displayed price, currency, seller, and selected size, color, or other variant are the ones you intend to record. Keep enough of the page visible to identify the product.
- Check the full URL. Copy the address from the browser, retaining identifiers and relevant query parameters. A short link or a filename based only on the product name may not identify the precise listing or variant.
- Choose a capture that includes the relevant details. Use a normal viewport capture if the price and context fit onscreen. If important details are below the fold, use a full-page capture or save additional views that preserve context.
- Save the capture with URL and time where possible. For a one-time record, a browser screenshot extension that exports to PDF may be convenient. GoFullPage documents an “Add URL and date/time” option for PDF exports and date, date/time, ISO, or no-date formats: GoFullPage.
- Make the timezone explicit. GoFullPage says its date/time stamp is determined by the geographic location set in the browser, and offers ISO formatting. An ISO-formatted timestamp is useful for consistency, but do not call it UTC unless the tool or record explicitly identifies it as UTC. Otherwise, record the timezone or offset yourself. - Keep a sidecar record. Store a small text or JSON file alongside the image or PDF with the URL, capture time and timezone, product or variant, displayed price and currency, capture method, and a short description. Keep the original output rather than relying only on a screenshot with labels rendered onto it.
What to check when choosing a capture method
Pick a method based on whether you need a one-off record, a full-page image, or repeated observations. Product pages describe vendor capabilities; they are not independent comparative tests.

For repeated price observations
Use a consistent filename or folder structure and retain each capture as a separate dated record instead of overwriting the previous image. For example, a filename can include the product identifier and a timezone-qualified capture time; keep the full URL and other details in the sidecar record rather than trying to encode everything in the filename.
An archive or monitoring service may offer scheduled captures, full-page output, and exports, but confirm its schedule controls, URL treatment, timezone, privacy, retention, and downloadable formats before depending on it. These are service-described capabilities, not independent evaluations. A capture also cannot show that a price remained available through checkout or preserve the page’s interactive behavior.

Limits of screenshots as records
A screenshot documents the rendered visual state captured at that moment. It does not, by itself, establish authenticity, alteration history, legal admissibility, or continued availability of the offer. A watermark, timestamp, hash, or archive feature should be described only as the relevant vendor describes it; none should be treated as a guarantee that a capture is unaltered or will be accepted in a legal process.
