For most EPFO pages, open your desktop browser’s Print dialog, choose a PDF destination, check the preview, and save. If the record you need is your EPF passbook, use EPFO’s own Download Passbook option when it is available: that gives you the passbook PDF rather than a browser-printed copy of the page.
Choose the right PDF method

The EPFO manual is an older Version 1.1 document, so current menu labels and screen layouts may differ. The logged-in interface may not show exactly the controls described there.

Download an EPF passbook PDF
- Sign in through the official EPFO member portal and open the passbook service. EPFO also lists the separate EPF Passbook & Claim Status entry point.
- Look for Download Passbook on the passbook screen and select it if available. EPFO’s manual says this control enables a PDF download.
- Save the file using your browser’s download prompt or download location.
- Open the downloaded PDF and check that the intended passbook and relevant entries are present before filing it.
If the passbook service is not available through your usual route, EPFO’s official service listings identify the Pass Book portal and the UMANG app as access routes. Availability can depend on the account and service status; EPFO does not establish that every route works for every member.
Save another EPFO page as a PDF
- Sign in only through EPFO’s official member portal, then open the page you need for office records.
- Open the browser’s Print dialog. In desktop Chrome, press Ctrl+P on Windows or Linux, or Command+P on Mac.
- Choose a PDF destination when one is offered. Review the preview, page range, and orientation; change settings if necessary so the required content is readable and included.
- Save the PDF, then open it to check the text, dates, tables, and page count.
Google’s Chrome instructions document the shortcut and print-settings workflow, but the destination labels and available choices vary by operating system and device. These steps make a browser copy; they do not mean EPFO has validated or issued the resulting PDF.

Prepare the file for office records
- Use a clear filename that identifies the record and retrieval date, such as EPFO-service-record-2026-10-03.pdf.
- Do not put your UAN, Aadhaar, PAN, or other sensitive identifiers in the filename unless your office policy requires it.
- Store the file only in your organization’s approved records location.
- Keep the original downloaded passbook PDF when that is the document you need; do not substitute a browser printout if the office specifically requires the official passbook.
When the portal or PDF does not look right
The passbook download option is missing
The EPFO manual describes a Download Passbook option, but its interface is older and logged-in screens can change. Check the current passbook page and EPFO’s official Pass Book portal or UMANG service listing. Do not assume a browser printout is equivalent to an official passbook PDF.
The PDF is blank or missing content
Check the browser print preview before saving. If the content is absent there, return to the portal page and confirm it has finished loading; then reopen Print. For a passbook, try EPFO’s own download control instead of printing the displayed page.

Tables are cut off or hard to read
Inspect the preview and adjust orientation, page range, or other available print settings before saving. Reopen the saved PDF to verify the result rather than relying on the preview alone.
The portal is slow or unavailable
The member portal may display temporary service notices. At the time reflected in EPFO’s public portal, it noted that services were being made live in phases following database consolidation and a software upgrade, and that claims or service requests could take longer during stabilization. Such notices can change; check the portal itself for current availability information.

Protect your EPFO account while saving records
Use the official portal addresses above rather than links from unsolicited messages. The EPF Passbook & Claim Status login page warns users not to share personal or financial details or OTPs, and says EPFO does not call members or pensioners to request deposits. Do not pay anyone who claims a deposit is needed to access your record.
