On desktop Chrome, open the webpage, press Ctrl+P on Windows or Linux or Command+P on Mac, choose Save as PDF as the destination, check the preview for Bengali text, and save. If Bengali is missing, compare the page, print preview and saved PDF in that order: the point where it disappears helps narrow down whether the problem is the webpage, font rendering or PDF export.
Save a webpage as PDF in Chrome
- Open the webpage in desktop Chrome and wait for its text and fonts to finish loading.
- Open the print dialog with Ctrl+P on Windows or Linux, or Command+P on Mac.
- In the destination selector, choose Save as PDF.
- Check the print preview, especially any Bengali text. If it looks right, select Save, choose where to store the file and save it.
- Open the resulting PDF and verify the text there, too.

Find where Bengali text disappears
Check the same text at three stages: on the webpage, in Chrome’s print preview and in the saved PDF. This is a diagnostic sequence, not a guarantee of a particular cause; the result can depend on the page, operating system and print output.

Check Bengali font coverage
Bengali uses complex script shaping, so a font needs suitable Bengali glyph coverage and the browser must shape the text correctly. Noto’s Bengali documentation describes the script’s complex text layout requirements. Noto Sans Bengali specimen.

If a font fallback looks suspect, test a trusted Bengali font such as Noto Sans Bengali. For documents, Noto’s usage guidance recommends the font without the “UI” suffix; the “UI” version is intended for interfaces with limited vertical space. Use the official Noto or Google Fonts distribution, install the font for your operating system, restart Chrome, then reload the page and retest. Installation steps vary by operating system. Installing a font is a diagnostic option, not a fix for every site-specific print stylesheet or export problem. Noto font usage guidance. Use an extension only as an optional fallback
The Chrome Web Store listing for Bengali Font Pack says it adds Bengali fallback font files for systems without support. The listing reports version 3.0 and an update date of June 12, 2024. It is not required for Chrome’s native PDF workflow, and its listing does not establish that it will fix a particular machine’s PDF output. Before installing any third-party extension, review its publisher and requested permissions.

Update Chrome if printing itself is failing
An update is a general maintenance step, not a Bengali-PDF-specific remedy. Google documents checking for updates from Chrome’s Help > About Google Chrome flow. Install an available update, restart Chrome if prompted, and test the same page and print workflow again. Google Chrome Help: Update Google Chrome.
