To save a webpage as a PDF on your phone, use Safari’s Markup flow on iPhone, Chrome’s Print preview on Android, or Firefox for Android’s direct Save as PDF command. The exact steps depend on your browser, and the PDF is saved to a location you choose or to Downloads.
This guide covers how to save a webpage as a PDF on iPhone and Android, where to find the resulting file, and what to try when the expected menu option is missing.
Choose the steps for your phone and browser

The steps below follow the published instructions from Apple Support, Google Chrome Help, and Mozilla Support. Browser menus can move or be renamed as apps and operating systems update, so look for the equivalent page, share, print, or download control if your screen differs.
Save a webpage as a PDF on iPhone in Safari
Safari’s documented route lets you open a webpage in Markup before saving it. You can add notes or highlights, but you do not have to make any marks: continuing through the same flow creates a PDF without annotations.

- Open Safari and load the webpage you want to save.
- Tap the page menu or the Share button.
- Tap Markup.
- If you want to annotate the page, use the Markup tools. Otherwise, leave it unchanged.
- Tap Done.
- Choose Save File To, select a destination in Files, enter a filename, and tap Save.
Apple Support’s article, Annotate and save a webpage as a PDF in Safari on iPhone, describes using Markup to highlight, draw, write notes, and share the document as a PDF. The saved file goes to the Files location you select in the final step; it is not automatically placed in a universal “PDF” folder.
If you only want an unmarked copy
Do not draw or write on the Markup screen. Tap Done and continue to Save File To. The Markup step is part of this PDF-saving route, not a requirement to add annotations.
Save a webpage as a PDF on Android in Chrome
Chrome creates the PDF from its print preview. You do not need a physical printer: choose Save as PDF as the destination instead of a hardware printer.

- Open Chrome and load the webpage. Chrome’s documented print flow also applies to an image or file.
- Tap More (the three-dot menu), then tap Share.
- Choose Print.
- In the printer or destination selector, choose Save as PDF.
- Review the print preview and any available settings you need to change.
- Tap the save control, choose where to store the file, and complete the save.
Google Chrome Help’s Print from Chrome – Android instructions say to tap Save as PDF to save the print preview as a PDF. If a printer chooser appears, check its destination dropdown: the relevant choice is Save as PDF, not a connected printer. Android versions and Chrome releases may show slightly different menu wording or layout.
Use the print preview before saving
Chrome’s print screen is the place to check how the page will be laid out and to use any settings shown there. A webpage and its printed layout are not necessarily identical: the preview is the version Chrome is preparing for the PDF. If something important is missing or awkwardly arranged, inspect the preview before saving and consider whether another browser or a different page view suits the document better.
Save a webpage as a PDF on Android in Firefox
Firefox for Android offers a direct Save as PDF command in its Share menu.

- Open Firefox and load the webpage.
- Tap the three-dots menu.
- Tap Share.
- Tap Save as PDF.
- Tap Download.
- Open Firefox’s Downloads list or the device’s Downloads folder to find the file.
Mozilla Support’s Save web pages as PDF in Firefox for Android says that the saved pages can be accessed later from the Downloads folder. That article is dated May 3, 2023; app updates may change where the command appears, so use the current Share menu if the listed placement no longer matches your version.
What differs between the mobile PDF options?

If you want to annotate on iPhone, Safari’s route explicitly includes Markup. If you want to inspect a print preview on Android, use Chrome’s print flow. Firefox’s Android route is the most direct of these three: choose its PDF command and download the result.
Find the PDF after saving
- iPhone and Safari: Open Files and browse to the destination you chose while saving. If you are unsure which destination you selected, check the recent files view or use Files search for the filename.
- Android and Chrome: Return to the location you chose in Chrome’s save step. If you cannot remember it, check the device’s file manager or Downloads for the filename.
- Android and Firefox: Open Firefox’s Downloads list or the device’s Downloads folder, as Mozilla’s instructions specify.
For a file you want to reach from more than one device, select a cloud-storage destination if it is offered in the system’s file picker and you use that service. The actual destination choices depend on what is available and configured on your phone.

Troubleshooting: when the PDF option is missing or the file is hard to find
Safari does not show Markup
On the loaded webpage, look for the page menu or Share button, then look for Markup. The control may be in a different place than expected. If you still do not see it, check Apple Support’s current instructions for Safari on iPhone; the documented sequence depends on starting from the page’s menu or Share control.
Chrome opens a printer chooser
That is part of the print flow. Open the destination or printer dropdown and select Save as PDF. Do not select a hardware printer if your goal is to create a file on the phone. Then complete the save and note the location you select.
Firefox says the download finished, but you cannot see the file
Check Firefox’s Downloads view first, then look in the device’s Downloads folder. Search by the filename if you entered one or if the browser supplied a default name.

The menu labels do not match these steps
Check that you are following the instructions for the correct browser and phone: Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android, or Firefox on Android. Menu placement can change after app or system updates. Use the official help page for your browser’s current version if the commands have moved.
The preview does not look like the webpage
Chrome’s PDF is produced from print preview, so inspect that preview before saving. The documented steps do not guarantee that every page element will appear exactly as it does on screen. If the preview is not suitable, try another supported browser workflow or save the page another way that meets your needs.
