On Android, save a webpage as a PDF from Chrome’s print preview: open the page, tap More (the three-dot menu), then Share and Print. Choose Save as PDF, inspect the preview for clipped edges or missing pages, then save the file. If Chrome’s PDF is still cut off, try Firefox’s separate Save as PDF flow and check the new file.
Save a webpage as a PDF in Chrome
- Open the webpage in Chrome for Android.
- Tap More (the three-dot menu), then tap Share.
- Select Print. If the print interface opens with a printer selected, open its destination list and choose Save as PDF.
- Review the print preview before saving. Check the left and right edges, page breaks, and the first and last pages for missing content or unexpected blank pages.
- Open the print settings if needed. If your device offers paper-size or orientation choices, try options that better suit the page’s shape, then inspect the preview again. Use only controls that actually appear in your Android print interface.
- Tap the save control, choose a location on your device if prompted, and complete the save action shown on screen. The exact final button and labels can vary by Android version and print service.
Google documents Chrome’s Android route as More > Share > Print and describes saving the print preview as a PDF. Its instructions do not establish one universal Android setting called “fit to page” or a scaling control available on every device. Google’s Chrome for Android printing instructions
Why a PDF can be cut off
A webpage’s printed layout may differ from what you see while scrolling. Websites can use print-specific CSS to change content for paged output, including page size and margins; those rules apply when a page is printed to PDF. That means clipping or awkward page breaks can come from how the site prepares its print layout, not just from the phone’s display. Chrome for Developers explains print margins and paged-media CSS.
What to try when the preview is wrong
- Content disappears at an edge: Reopen print settings and try another paper size or orientation if available. Check the preview after each change; Android does not expose the same controls on every device.
- Text or images break awkwardly across pages: Look for a print-friendly or reader view on the website and create a new PDF from that version. It may produce a simpler layout, but it is not guaranteed to fix every page.
- Chrome’s result remains clipped: Try the Firefox steps below, then inspect the resulting PDF. Switching browsers is an alternative workflow, not a guarantee that the site’s print layout will be repaired.
- The saved PDF seems incomplete: Open it and review every page at normal zoom, especially the beginning and end. Distinguish missing document content from content that is merely outside the current view.
- The page looks cut off only while viewing: It may be a zoom or scrolling issue rather than a problem with the PDF itself. Chrome’s Android PDF help describes pinch zoom and scrolling on Android 12 and later. Google’s guidance on managing PDFs in Chrome for Android
Use Firefox as an alternative
- Open the webpage in Firefox for Android.
- Tap the menu, then tap Share.
- Choose Save as PDF, then tap Download.
- Open the saved file from Downloads and check its pages and edges.
