For content longer than one screen, use a supported scrolling or full-page capture. If you need to keep the actual policy, look for the insurer’s downloadable policy document instead: a screenshot records what is displayed, not necessarily the complete policy.
Choose the right kind of record

The exact menus and accepted submission formats depend on your phone, browser, insurer, and the recipient’s instructions. The steps below are general device guidance, not instructions for a particular insurer.

Take a standard screenshot on Android
- Sign in to the insurer’s website and open the page you want to keep. Check that the information you need is visible and that unrelated sensitive details are not unnecessarily on screen.
- Press Power and Volume Down at the same time.
- If that shortcut does not work, hold Power for a few seconds and tap Screenshot, if your device offers that option. If neither method works, check the phone manufacturer’s support instructions; controls can vary by manufacturer.
- Open the image in Photos under Collections → On this device → Screenshots, or find it in your phone’s Gallery app if Photos is unavailable. Review and crop it before sharing.
Capture a longer page on Android
Use Android’s scrolling capture
After taking a screenshot, look for Capture more and adjust the crop guides to include the content you need. Android Help says this is available on Android 12 and later on most screens that allow scrolling; it is not available on every screen or device.
Use Chrome’s Long screenshot
- With the logged-in page open in Chrome, tap More → Share → Long screenshot.
- Drag the crop handles to cover the needed part of the page, then tap Confirm.
- Save the image or share it to the intended destination.
Chrome’s menu may differ by device or portal. Chrome blocks screenshots in Incognito mode; open the page in a regular tab rather than trying to work around the restriction.

Take a screenshot on iPhone
- On an iPhone with Face ID, quickly press and release Side and Volume Up together. On an iPhone with a Home button, quickly press and release Side and Home together.
- Tap the screenshot preview to crop or annotate if needed. Screenshots are saved to Photos by default.
- For a page longer than the screen in Safari, tap the screenshot preview and choose Full Page. Apple says the capture can be saved to Photos as an image or to Files as a PDF.
Safari’s Full Page option is for supported content such as an entire webpage; do not assume the same option appears in every app or browser.
For an actual policy, check electronic document options
If your purpose is to retain the insurance policy, first check the insurer’s account area for a policy download or e-policy option. IRDAI describes the Insurance Repository system as a way for policyholders to keep policies electronically and access policy details through an online portal; its FAQ also describes an e-Insurance Account with online policy access. Confirm that your particular policy and service are available: IRDAI Insurance Repositories.

A Government of India Press Information Bureau release dated 12 February 2021 reported that an IRDAI circular dated 9 February 2021 advised insurers to enable their IT systems to interact with DigiLocker so policyholders could preserve policy documents there. That release records the advice at that time; it does not establish that every insurer or policy is currently accessible through DigiLocker. Verify availability with the insurer or service: Press Information Bureau release.
Protect personal details before sharing
A logged-in page may show your name, policy number, address, claim information, or other personal details. Keep only what is needed for the task, review the final image, and share it through the channel specified by the recipient. If you are submitting evidence to the insurer, follow its instructions for accepted image or document formats; a screenshot may not satisfy a request for a particular form or original document.

Troubleshooting
- The button shortcut does nothing: Try the alternate Android Power-menu option if offered, or confirm the manufacturer’s instructions. On iPhone, use the button combination that matches your model.
- The Android long-capture option is missing: Scrolling capture is not supported on every screen. Android Help describes it for Android 12 and later on most scrollable screens; try Chrome’s Long screenshot where available.
- Chrome will not take a screenshot: If the page is in Incognito, open it in a regular tab. Chrome Help says Incognito screenshots are blocked.
- The portal or a managed device blocks capture: Ask the insurer or device administrator for an approved way to provide the information. Do not bypass a restriction.
- The image is cut off or contains unnecessary details: Retake it with the needed page positioned on screen, use a supported scrolling capture if appropriate, and crop or redact details that are not required before sharing.
- The recipient rejects the screenshot: Ask which format or document is accepted. Download the policy or use the insurer’s specified submission method if an image is not sufficient.
