Let the page and consent banner settle, use the site’s own consent controls if needed, then capture the visible page with your browser or operating system. Choose a full-page capture only if you need content below the viewport. A banner reappearing does not, by itself, show that you have been logged out.
Save the screenshot without disturbing your login
- Keep the existing logged-in tab open. Do not clear cookies, storage, or browser data to dismiss the banner; site data can include session information.
- Wait for the page to finish loading and for the consent interface to appear in its final state.
- If the banner is visible, use the site’s own accept, reject, or dismiss controls according to your preference.
- Capture the visible viewport using your browser’s screenshot feature or your operating system’s ordinary screenshot command. If the screenshot must include content below the viewport, use a full-page capture instead.
For a record or report, save any relevant time and context separately. Include only the account details the recipient needs; avoid exposing credentials or unrelated private information.
Choose a capture method for the image you need
Capture the visible viewport
A regular browser or operating-system screenshot is the straightforward choice when the part of the page currently on screen is all that matters. Wait until the page and consent UI have settled before taking it.

Capture the entire page in Firefox
Firefox DevTools can save a full-page screenshot to Downloads. In DevTools Settings, enable “Take a screenshot of the entire page” under Available Toolbox Buttons, then use the screenshot icon. Inspect how the page changed during a Chrome reload
Chrome DevTools’ Network panel can capture screenshots during page loading. Enable Capture screenshots in Network settings, focus the Network panel, and reload. The thumbnails correspond to points in the load sequence and can be associated with network activity. They are useful for diagnosing when a banner or other content appears, but they are not automatically a single final screenshot of the settled page. See the Chrome Network reference.
Why the banner can return without proving the login failed
Cookies can be used for session management and personalization. Chrome documents cookies and provides an Application panel for inspecting cookies by origin; MDN describes a typical login flow in which a server uses a session-ID cookie to record sign-in status in the browser. This is why preserving site data is safer than deleting it just to remove a banner. See Chrome’s cookie documentation and MDN’s cookie guide.
Those general cookie explanations do not establish how a particular site stores consent choices. The banner’s return could depend on that site’s consent implementation or browser state; the fact that it appeared again does not establish that the site has signed you out. If you need to diagnose the login or consent behavior, inspect rather than edit or delete site data.

Troubleshoot common problems
- The banner reappears after a reload: Accept, reject, or dismiss it using the site’s controls, then capture once the display settles. The cause cannot be identified from the banner alone; consent persistence is site-specific.
- You are worried you may have lost your login: Do not clear cookies or storage as a first step. Check whether the page still shows the authenticated state. Chrome’s Application > Storage > Cookies view can inspect cookies for an origin, but avoid changing them just to make the screenshot.
- The screenshot shows an intermediate load state: Wait for the page and consent interface to settle before taking an ordinary screenshot. Use Chrome Network screenshots only when you specifically want frames from different moments during loading.
- Content below the fold is missing: Use a full-page capture, such as Firefox’s full-page screenshot option, rather than a viewport screenshot.
- The screenshot includes more private information than intended: Review the visible page before sharing, and capture or share only what the recipient needs.
