For a general GST Portal webpage, use your browser’s Print command, choose Save as PDF, and check the print preview before saving. A date can be added in Microsoft Edge through its header-and-footer setting, but the reviewed instructions do not confirm that Edge prints the URL; Chrome’s reviewed desktop help does not specify which header fields appear. If you need a GST certificate or another official record, use the portal’s own PDF download when available instead of treating a browser printout as an official portal-issued document.
Choose the right way to make the PDF

A date printed by the browser is the date of printing, not proof of when the GST information was issued, took effect, or was last updated. A URL, if included, identifies the address used for printing; it does not authenticate the PDF as an official filing.

Save a general GST Portal webpage as PDF
In Microsoft Edge
- Open the GST Portal page you want to keep in Edge.
- Open Print. In the print dialog, select a PDF destination if one is offered.
- Expand More settings and enable Headers and footers.
- Inspect the preview. Microsoft says this option adds the current date to the header and a page number to the footer. Its instructions do not say the URL is included, so check whether the preview actually shows it.
- If the preview is correct, choose Print or Save and select a location and filename for the PDF.
- Open the saved file and check the page header and footer. If the URL is missing, do not assume it was embedded.
Microsoft’s instructions describe the date and page number, not a guaranteed URL field: Print in Microsoft Edge.

- Open the GST Portal webpage in Chrome.
- Press Ctrl+P on Windows or Linux, or Command+P on Mac.
- In the print dialog, choose Save as PDF if it appears as the destination.
- Review the available options and preview before saving. Chrome’s reviewed help confirms the print shortcut and destination selection, but does not establish precisely which header fields desktop Chrome prints.
- Save the PDF, open it, and verify any URL or date you need is actually present.

On Android
Chrome’s help describes choosing Save as PDF from the Android print preview and then choosing where to save the file. That mobile instruction does not establish that URL and date headers are included. Inspect the preview and resulting PDF if those details matter. See Chrome’s print instructions.
Download a GST certificate or ticket from its own service
Registration certificates
The GST Portal user guide describes this route: sign in, select Services > User Services > View/Download Certificates, find the certificate in the chronological list, and use the Download column. It says the registration certificate downloads as a PDF. The guide URL returned 404 when checked, so the current page location and exact labels are not confirmed; follow the portal’s current certificate service if the menu has changed. This is preferable to printing a page when you need the certificate itself.

Grievance ticket records
A GST Self Service Portal manual says a user could save a ticket number as PDF or print the docket number from a status pop-up. This is historical interface guidance from a 2018 manual, not a guarantee of the current layout or a method for capturing arbitrary pages. The manual also describes PNG, JPG, or PDF attachments with a combined 5 MB limit; that limit is historical and may have changed. See the GST Self Service Portal manual.
What to do when the PDF must show both URL and date
Use the browser’s preview as the deciding check: the reviewed official instructions do not establish that a standard desktop print-to-PDF flow always includes both fields. Edge documents a current-date header, but not URL printing. Chrome documents print-to-PDF steps, but not the exact desktop header contents.

- If date and URL are both visible in your preview, save and then verify them in the PDF.
- If the date appears but the URL does not, do not describe the file as containing a browser-printed URL.
- If you add a URL label yourself in a note or document, identify it as supplemental metadata, not as text generated or verified by the GST Portal.
- If the file is meant to be an official certificate or portal-issued record, retrieve the native PDF from the relevant portal service when available.
Troubleshoot a missing header, URL, or date
- No header-and-footer option: Do not infer that headers will appear. Use the options the current browser dialog provides and inspect the preview.
- Date is present but URL is absent: Edge’s documented header-and-footer option promises a current date and page number, not a URL. Use a portal-native document where applicable or clearly label any URL you add separately.
- Preview looks right but the file does not: Reopen the saved PDF and inspect it, including the first and last page. Browser settings, page layout, margins, operating system, or managed-device policies may affect the dialog and output.
- You printed a certificate page instead of downloading the certificate: Return to the certificate service and use its download action if available; a printed webpage is not necessarily the same record.
