What Screenshot.rocks can and cannot do for a PDF
The Screenshot.rocks extension captures the visible portion of the current tab and opens it in its editor. Its guide says it can work on pages behind a login, so it can capture an authenticated GST dashboard in principle. That distinction matters: a screenshot is an image of what is visible, while printing a page to PDF produces a document-style, potentially paginated output. If the file must be a PDF, use the browser print flow or a native PDF download offered for the particular GST record.

- Open the official GST Portal and sign in if the page requires authentication. Navigate to the page or record you need, and make sure its relevant content has loaded.
- Open Chrome’s print dialog: press Ctrl+P on Windows or Linux, or Command+P on Mac. Alternatively, use Chrome’s menu and select Print. See Google’s Chrome printing instructions.
- In the print dialog, select Save as PDF as the destination.
- Review the preview. Check that the content you need is present and legible, and that page breaks have not omitted or awkwardly split important information.
- Select Save, choose a location and filename, and open the saved PDF to verify it.
When Screenshot.rocks is the right choice
Use the extension when you need a visual image of the currently visible page rather than a PDF. The guide says clicking the extension sends the screenshot to Screenshot.rocks so it can open in the editor tab; it also says the image is not stored. Because a GST page may contain taxpayer or business information, consider whether sending that image to an external editor is appropriate for your use.

- Sign in to the GST Portal and open the page you want to capture.
- Bring the relevant content into view. The extension’s described capture is of the visible part of the current tab.
- Click the Screenshot.rocks extension button to open the capture in its editor.
- Choose an image style and export format in the editor. The store listing identifies PNG, JPG and SVG.
For a long page, the Screenshot.rocks guide describes using the browser’s full-page screenshot and then dropping that image into the editor. That remains an image workflow; if you need a paginated PDF, print the page to PDF and check the preview.
Check for a GST Portal download first
Some records have their own download control, which may be preferable to printing a web page. GSTN documents one example for issued certificates: log in, go to Services > User Services > View/Download Certificates, then use the control in the Download column. The guide says the registration certificate is provided as a PDF. This example does not establish that every GST Portal page or record has a PDF download. See GSTN’s certificate guide.

For other authenticated pages, interface labels can change. For example, GSTN’s GSTR-9 utility guide, last updated on 2021-08-04, describes the route Services > Returns > Annual Return, selecting a financial year, searching and preparing online. Protect taxpayer information
- Do not include passwords, OTPs or unrelated personal or tax details in a screenshot you plan to share.
- If you use Screenshot.rocks, consider the sensitivity of the visible information because the guide says the capture is sent to its editor.
- When you prefer not to send a screenshot to an external editor, use Chrome’s local print-to-PDF flow and check that the saved document contains only the information you intend to retain or share.

Troubleshooting
- The print preview is incomplete or has poor page breaks: Confirm the page finished loading, inspect all preview pages and adjust the print dialog’s available layout or scale settings before saving. A page-specific print layout may differ from the screen.
- The Screenshot.rocks result is only an image: That is expected for the documented extension export formats. Use Chrome’s print dialog for a PDF.
- A long page is cut off in a screenshot: The extension’s normal capture is the visible part of the tab. Use its described full-page screenshot workflow for a long image, or use print-to-PDF when the required output is a document.
- You cannot find a native PDF download: Availability depends on the record. GSTN documents certificate downloads, not a universal PDF control for every portal page.
