For distinct Hindi and Tamil publishing identities, use a separate YouTube channel for each language, then create and manage playlists inside the matching channel. You can manage both channels with one Google Account, but only one is active at a time. Before editing or uploading, switch to the intended channel and confirm its name and icon.
Choose between separate channels and one channel with language playlists
Separate channels make sense when Hindi and Tamil programming have distinct identities, audiences, or management needs. A single channel with clearly named language playlists may be simpler when the same channel identity serves both audiences. YouTube’s playlist controls support organizing videos, but they do not establish that either structure will perform better.

A Google Account can manage up to 100 YouTube channels. A personal channel is managed by its owner; a channel using a business or other name can be associated with a Brand Account and may have multiple owners or managers. Consider the consequences of splitting an existing channel before moving videos: YouTube says separate channels cannot be merged or linked, and data cannot be transferred automatically. Re-uploaded videos start over with watch time and other metrics on the new uploads. YouTube’s channel-creation guide and channel-merging guidance explain these limitations.
Create or choose the Hindi and Tamil channels
- Decide whether you need two channels. If both languages need separate publishing identities, create or use one channel for Hindi and one for Tamil. If you are splitting an established channel, first account for the fact that videos and their metrics do not transfer automatically.
- Create any channel you do not already have. Follow YouTube’s instructions to create a channel. For a business or other name, consider using a Brand Account if more than one person needs to manage it.
- Use clear channel identities. Give each channel a name and profile image that help you recognize the language at a glance. This is an organizational practice, not a YouTube requirement.
Switch to the channel you want to manage
- In YouTube, select your profile picture.
- Choose Switch account.
- Select the Hindi or Tamil channel you intend to work on.
- Check the displayed channel name and icon before making changes. Uploads, playlist edits, and other channel actions apply to the currently selected channel.
If a channel you manage is missing, YouTube advises switching through Studio or checking that your Google Account is listed as a manager of the relevant Brand Account. See YouTube’s channel-switching instructions.

Create a playlist in YouTube Studio on desktop
- Switch to the correct language channel and confirm its name and icon.
- Open YouTube Studio.
- Select CREATE → New playlist.
- Enter a playlist title and description. For clarity, use a name such as “Hindi – [series or topic]” or “Tamil – [series or topic].”
- Choose the playlist’s visibility and video arrangement.
- Add the videos for that language rotation, then create the playlist.
YouTube Studio playlist titles can be up to 150 characters and descriptions up to 5,000 characters. The YouTube Studio playlist guide covers the available controls.
Build and maintain each rotation
Add videos and set their order
In Studio, go to Content → Playlists and select the playlist to edit. You can add videos from search, by URL, or from your video library. Reorder them by dragging into the sequence you want viewers to follow. Keep the Hindi and Tamil queues in their respective channels, and use titles that make both the language and the series or topic recognizable.

Choose visibility and collaboration settings
Playlist details include its title, description, visibility, and language fields. You can share a playlist or add collaborators. If you need translated playlist titles and descriptions, use the Languages controls; YouTube may require verification before those controls are available. In the YouTube Studio app, open Content, use the options beside a video to edit it, select or deselect playlists, and save. Playlist settings such as title, description, visibility, and order are available from the Playlists tab. See YouTube’s Android playlist guide.

Limits and cases that can affect playlist work
- Daily playlist creation: YouTube documents a daily limit on creating public playlists across YouTube, YouTube Music, and the API. Advanced-feature access may increase the limit; the cited help page does not give a fixed number. Details are in YouTube’s playlist guidance.
- Made-for-kids content: A made-for-kids video or channel cannot be added to a playlist from a homepage, although content may still be added from search results. See the same playlist help page.
- Playlist display: YouTube’s desktop help says up to 5,000 videos can be displayed in a playlist. The You tab lists public, private, and unlisted playlists. See YouTube’s playlist guidance.
- Channel selection: Only one channel is active at a time. A playlist created or edited while the wrong channel is selected will belong to that channel, so verify the profile name and icon first.
- Moving content later: Separate channels cannot be merged or have their data transferred automatically. Re-uploading creates new uploads whose watch time and other metrics start over. See YouTube’s channel-merging guidance.
